  1. Certainly hope this isn't true, although it was a quite high chance when the story broke that Shagger would be the front runner. Hope it's all bull and just some bint trying to get money
  2. I doubt Burley would have given either of them another chance. Burley has perhaps realised that he had been slowly removing the elements from the team that actually made it any good. Back tracking a little now to suggest he would've perhaps been able to fix it. Burley was destroying that team. Some of the players he was bringing in were just beyond belief and the reasons for leaving some out were even worse. I mean, suggesting initially that Boyd wasn't getting into the Scotland squad as he wasn't played for Rangers regularly. Half of the Scotland team at the time weren't playing regular football. I mean, look at the goalie situation. Gordon had pretty much been dropped but Sunderland as he was playing pish. So wasn't getting a game, unfit due to injury also and still got straight back in.. I get the impression Burley is a clueless man who had little interest in picking the country's best players. He should never have been given the job in the first place and should have been sacked a lot sooner. The handling of the whole boozegate thing was poor also. He openly had a go at Ferguson and McGregor but failed to mention his other luvvies who were involved also. Poor show from Burley. Managed to alienate the backbone of a decent national squad and he paid the price, so did the team.
  3. I'd love to get behind Lafferty but I'd like him to show more in a Rangers shirt. It's all very well saying his confidence is shot to feck and all and this is perhaps not helping. He has however, since signing for Rangers, not shown much to suggest he is even capable of becoming a good player for us. The fact he's been played out of position will affect his game I suppose. However, there are several players with smaller price tags being played out of position and they are still showing more ability than Lafferty. He really needs to sit down, have a word with himself and start playing hard, confidence low or not. He needs to show he is capable of good things and becoming a good player. His price tag wasn't his fault. That was a combination of Burnley ripping us off and Rangers not looking hard enough at the player. He does need to show us more though, a lot more than he is now. Out of position or not. With Boyd being out of the team I suppose this is a good opportunity for him to get a run in his preferred role. I am 1) not sure I would want to give him the chance based on how poor he has been 2) if he does get the chance he really needs to grab it with both hands. He can't start showing something in his preferred position then it's time to call it quits with Lafferty. He needs to earn our support and I think he's been given loads since signing - folks are starting to turn on him more because he is offering nothing to the team at all.
  4. Both of them are useful players. Broadfoot is very average and not someone I would really have as anything more than a back-up - he's simply not good enough. However, he is less of a worry than Whittaker at right back. Novo had been good on the left before injury. However I would like to see a proper left sided player stuck there, perhaps Beasley when he comes back with a real right sided player given the other side of the park. Would even be keen to see how Whittaker would work there. Don't have a problem with either of them being offered new contracts.
  5. I don't have too much of a problem with Murray. Yes, he's been poor over the last few years but has done well by us in the past. I'd like to see Murray go eventually but concerned the next guy will possibly be worse. As for Bain, I have no idea what this guy does to justify getting paid the huge wage he does for a little work he puts in. Would be interesting to hear if anyone from Rangers could actually sit down and give us a rundown out Bain's tasks day to day and what he is good at.
  6. I suppose the main thing is, will he be here long enough to get his 30+ goals? If he stays then I think he'll make that target easy.
  7. I think Smith should be given a go. Obviously he's been out a long time and some folk have even commented on him just not being that good. Personally I thought he looked a right good left back for us. I think he should be given a chance. However, I think it's pretty unlikely he'll get a go. Whether there is something we don't know or it's just because Walter would rather someone who isn't a left back playing left back I just don't think he'll get on. Most likely be Whittaker that get's played there.
  8. Celtic fans are really in no position to be commenting on anyone diving. They have a proud history of cheats in their teams over the years. In their current squad they have possibly two of the biggest diving cheats in the UK. McDonald, who for such a heavy wee guy can't actually stand for very long. And of course they have Nakamura. I player who has 0 ability on the field except hitting freekicks. Most of which he earns by conning the ref. I mean, Nakamura is the only guy that I have see play football that gets freekicks for running into the back of people. They really should think before commenting on things such as players from other teams going down in the box too easily. Good chance it's how they'll scrape through their game tomorrow.
  9. Yes. He is a fat marti pellow. After all those drugs Marti Pellow took it wouldn't take too much to be fatter than him.
  10. I just do not get this thing about fans wanting rid of Boyd. Do they seriously think we'll do better without him. What is this based on? Boyd scores a majority, by a fair bit, of our goals. He's pulled us out of so many holes with his "pointless" goals. Why do these people want to hinder our club for a reason that cannot be explained. His attitude being a problem? How's that then. He pulls on a Rangers shirt and goes out to score goals, which he normally does, he puts the effort in box any good striker should. £3.7m is a good price? I don't get that either. It would no doubt cost us more than that to replace him with a player that probably won't score as often. He's overweight. He isn't really oveweight is he? Also, what makes him lazy? I see Boyd chasing the ball like everyone else. So, he's not as quick as some of the others but he does try. Whislt he's trying to please some folks by working out on the wings and coming back to get the ball from midfield etc he's being taking away from the area where he is without question deadly. Boyd becomes the player some of the Rangers fans seem to want who's going to score all the goals. Madness, I just don't get it. We need Boyd in that team.
  11. I sincerely hope he does. I am sure if Murray needs to pay this money so desparately he can. He does not need to sell Boyd. Boyd doesn't want to go he has a contract and doesn't have to. Murray might try and twist this to point out he's not helping the club but I am sure Boyd will realise that's utter dross. Selling Boyd now would be worse for the club than getting £3m for him.

    Novo

Novo is a very, very good player to have in the squad. I would hate it Rangers were to let him go. However, when he starts he generally offers less than he does as a sub. Not saying he isn't good when he starts games but he does seem to have an almost immediate impact on the team when he comes on as a sub. I've lost count of the number of times he's came on as a sub and we score as a result of something he does. Yet, he just does not do that when played from the start. Love the wee man, want him to stay at Ibrox but should be used as a sub much more than a starter. Although, in saying that - he'd have been a far superior choice to Miller today.
  13. I feel than Miller does this at every single club he has played at. He starts off well, getting a good couple of goals, some of real quality. Looks a busy player that does a lot of hard work. After this inital performance he then dies off and becomes the crap player than outraged the Rangers support when Smith decided in all his madness to sign him. Has had a few good games for Rangers. None recently and should have been dropped for another player. This is the problem with Smith, he struggles so much to make changes to the squad. Miller should be dropped. Perhaps left on the bench for a couple of games and give someone else a go. Naismith came on in the cup and had a really good game, was full of energy, creativity and actually looked a dangerous player - unless he's injured or struggling for fitnees (which it didn't look like he was) he should have played today in place of Miller who has been stinking for weeks.
  14. I would rather Boyd in the team. I'd rather have a player that scores regularly and actually wants to play for Rangers than a guy that scores occasionally and can't be arsed being at Rangers or even trying to play football on occasions. Sure, Cousin was technically a better player. He had more ability than Boyd as a lone frontman etc. I just think Boyd's contribution has been more for Rangers and hopefully he'll be here to continue firing the goals in.
  15. The ref had a really bad game today. He lost the plot pretty early on and it just got worse from there. The two red cards were just ridiculous, a yellow perhaps but never a red. As said on the Rangers Live commentary. Even the guys in the Falkirk dugout just looked over at the Rangers dugout and shook their heads and shrugged their shoulders. Poor game by the ref. Shame thing is we kind of get used to performances like that from our officials. They seem to float around game to game making an arse of it and getting away with it. Still cannot believe these cheeky barstewards went on strike to get more pay. Imagine going to your boss and telling them "I know I cannot do my job even remotely well but I want more money or I on strike". You'd be punted 6 feet in the air out the door after being laughed at. Still, I am sure we'll see many more performances like that from refs and I am glad it didn't ruin the game for us, we came away with the 3 points which is the important thing.
