  1. don't know when the online megastore will be back but there is an online store in australia that delivers to new zealand. it's address is 'followdownunder.com.au'
  2. i had a go at setanta a few weeks ago about this. they claimed it was rangers not allowing home game coverage. i was able to send an email to a guy called jim hannah (JimHannah@rangers.co.uk) and he relpied that it was a matter between a company called 'sport 5' who hold the world rights and setanta as to why we are not getting coverage. got in contact with setanta again repeating what jim hannah had to say. setanta said they would get the 'manager' to call me back, but never did. bottom line, who knows who's telling the truth so looks like i'll junk foxtell/setanta and go with rangers tv. try jim hannah's email, hope you can get further than me.
  3. just to update those interested, i got an email contact at rangers, namely jim hannah. some people i was in contact with seem to think it is to do with promoting the rangers tv option which makes sense. jim hannah got back to me within the day which i was impressed with. his answer is interesting and i've included the emails below. assuming he is right, then i'll be ringing setanta again to find out why they buy celtic home games but not rangers. i've replied to jim to see if he knows why the celtic games are shown (or bought) but not the rangers. i'll keep anyone interested updated as i go, but as it stands it seems to be a setanta problem (so abuse them) at the moment but i'll keep digging for the proper story. email from rangers: Hi Andrew Thank you for your email dated 18th October, please see below the reply that was sent to the Oceania Rangers Supporters Association, which I presume you may not be part off, can I ask what part of Australia you are from and if you are linked to a registered Rangers Supporters Club in Australia. Rangers Home SPL Game coverage All SPL games rights are owned by the SPL – not the Club. Sportfve have bought the SPL overseas rights from the SPL – this is 60 live games that include 4 home games from Ibrox (5 this year). Sportfive sub licence the overseas rights – presumably in this case to Setanta Australia – this would be for a minimum of 60 games I would have thought but am not party to their agreements. In the absence of an OB (outside Broadcast unit) at Ibrox for the home games (there is no broadcaster taking the game as it stands) - Rangers will (and do) pay to have an OB there to service our overseas fans – this feed is used for our Club online TV service for individual customers and for the NARSA clubs in North America. We use a broadband feed directly for output and manage ourselves (we don’t use a sat truck etc as we don’t need one). You say that the Club is actively preventing the fans from watching Rangers when in fact the opposite is the case. If we were not prepared to pay for the OB ourselves there would be no live coverage for any of our overseas fans – and it is thanks to the support from those who do use RangersTV that we are able to provide this service. I am not sure where all of this is coming from but we are not actively blocking any coverage. I would have thought that Setanta Australia should be talking to Sportfive. Hope this helps clear things up a bit, Regards Jim Hannah Rangers FC -----Original Message----- From: Andrew [mailto:----------------] Sent: 18 October 2011 04:08 To: Jim Hannah Subject: rangers tv coverage in australia jim, hi, hope you are well. i've been trying to contact rangers about the pay tv coverage in australia and the website is of no help. i was given your email address as some one in the club who might be able to point me in the right direction. setanta hold the rights in australia and so far this year they have failed to show 3 of the rangers home games (last year they didn't show about 4 rangers games yet showed all the celtic games). this year they have shown all of the celtic games. when i complained to them about it, they insisted that the st mirren game would be shown. they did not show the st mirren game. when i complained further, they said that they would 'love' to show all the rangers games but rangers have the right to pull coverage of home games and that is the reason why they have not been shown. could you give me a contact email address of some one to talk to about this to find out if it is true? as i find it a bit hard to believe. let's be honest, the spl doesn't attract alot of world viewers apart from old firm supporters, so to angers australian rangers supporters seems insane. the rangers brand is being damaged in australia over this and i know i'm not alone in being angry that i pay a tv subscription just to see rangers games yet they are not being shown. any assistance you could give me would be most appreciated. regards, andrew. 4. the only reason i'm with shitanta is so that i can record the games for the old boy to see and so that he can record them and send them to me when i'm away at work (seafarer). otherwise i'd chuck setanta and use rangers tv in an instant, might do it anyway if the coverage doesn't inprove.
  5. looks like another abusive call is in order then as they only offered to take $3 a off a month for the next 3 months. cheers for the info.
  6. does anyone have a contact email address for some one (public relations, broadcasting or the like) at rangers? as aussie supporters would know, the coverage by setanta in australia is a disgrace. this year they've failed to show 3 rangers games yet have shown all the septic games. last week i complained to setanta about this and the fact the st mirren game was not being shown. they insisted that they would be showing the st mirren game. they did not show the st mirren game. i contacted setanta again and after ranting on to the call centre girl i was passed on to a 'manager'. she claimed that they would love to show the rangers games, however, rangers have the right to pull coverage of our home games when ever they desire. she claimed that the reason for not showing the games is because of this. she seemed sincere, but i find it a bit hard to believe that rangers would pull coverage to viewers in australia, it makes no sense unless it is somehow tied in to uk broadcasting or that setanta are full of shit. i therefore want to contact the club to see if this is the case or what they think of the crap coverage in australia. i only have foxtell and setanta for the rangers games, so if i have to pay$70+ a month and not see the rangers then i'll tell them to shove it. the club website never gets back to me about anything, so if anyone has a contact email address it would help. cheers.
  7. good quality gear in decent sizes. have received the royal sweat top, a few poly polos and the padded jacket. much more comfortable than the carling stuff from last year. very happy with this years goods.
  8. each to their own really. as long as our home strip is traditional, i'm not bothered. i think last years third strip (white) and this years third strip are miles better than our second strips over the last few years.
  9. cheers for the vid. being in oz, i'm a day away from the oldboy sending me the video. millers second goal is sublime. proud to be a bear coming back from 2-0 down against the sheep. if only they ever fronted against the scum like they do for us.
  10. and if we can turn a good profit when he heads to 'another challenge' all the better, rather than a 'boyhood fan' leaving us for nothing, good luck to him.
  11. he's exciting to watch at hindmarsh, him and flores have transformed adelaide this year. he's got the confidence/ability to take on defenders which you can't teach. a far better player and future prospect than nathan burns and bruce djite at that age.given that a-league contracts only go for a year or two i can't see him being in adelaide next year and whoever gets him will have a cheap gem, with some decent coaching he'd be a good lad to have take over from miller when his time is up.
  12. Please elaborate. in australia, at football (association) games, flags of teams/nations not playing are banned. there is no uproar about this as it makes sense. yet in scotland, irish flags are waved at certain clubs games and when supporters of the other team comment on it, suddenly, it's racism. i have no issue with other nations/teams flags being flown anywhere, each to there own. however, should you choose to make your bed, you must lie in it! fly a victorian flag in south australia (or vice versa) an you'll cop some shit, yet no one runs of to the press crying racism etc as happens with our brothers at dignity fc.
  13. as british citizen living in a commonwealth country, i don't understand how someone can wave the flag of a foriegn nation, that supported the mr hitler & co., at club home games without expecting to get slaughtered. then when people tell them to @#$% off home, said people are accused of racism .
  14. it takes 4-5 days to australia, which is impressive. i'd assume it would be quicker to canada being closer.
