Things can fall through at the last minute, as you know signing a player can be quite complex and there's a lot of things that can go wrong.
Doesn't mean your source didn't have anything of substance.
Does my head in when people say things like "see, we were clearly never interested in ......... because we didn't try to sign him", well... how do you you actually know we didn't try to sign him and it just didn't work out?
