During the Irish potato famine was it only Catholics who suffered?
The Protestant Scot/Irish suffered as much as the Catholics population.
The Protestant churches set up soup kitchens to feed all denominations.
The Catholic population were warned not to take the hand outs. (History repeated its self in Glasgow’s East end in 1818)
Two thirds of the people who migrated from Ireland during the famine were Scot/Irish Protestant; most of witch went to America. (Because of religious freedom, as did most of the early immigrants to America from northern Europe)
