  1. At a game about 87/88 season with my old mate Ronnie. About the 47 minute mark Ronnie pipes up, " I see Souness has made a tactical change...Cooper's swapped wings" My other mate Alan turns to him and says, " Ronnie, waken up, it's the second half now, and we're shooting the OTHER way!!"
  2. Looking for INTEGRITY amongst the Scottish written and broadcasting media, is like trying to find a BACKBONE in a barrel of JELLYFISH !!
  3. Get Scot Gemmill in as Head Youth Coach. Judging by his work in charge of the young Scotland team(s) he seems able to motivate and communicate ideas to the best young talent in this country.
  4. When it was revealed that there was to be no facility available to renew by credit and debit card, alarm bells started sounding in my head. What, if ANY Global Business/Brand can hope to operate and compete at the top level, if those providing security on credit and debit cards withdraw their backing and good faith. I have been a loyal supporter home away and abroad for over fifty years, but I simply CANNOT afford to GAMBLE and throw my cash into a black hole without any guarantee or assurance that my money is safe. That is the bottom line for me, and I'm sorry if it offends those who CAN afford to take a chance.
  5. Erik was the manager of Morton when I was there as a teenager around 1973/74. My memory of him at training is that he used to fancy himself as a bit of a free scoring centre forward, and would NEVER play in goals. He would also keep the end of training game going for as long as it took him to score the winning goal. if we didn't let him, he would have made us play all night until he did !!
  6. Try Croft Radio Cars - GlasgowTaxis & Private Hire. . 0141-633-2222. Always found them to be pretty good on price and reliability,
  7. My favourite memory of Supporters bus travel was on Christmas Day 1971 when we played Hibs in the league. I was 15 years of age, and was only allowed to travel by my mum, if I could guarantee that I would be home and ready in time for the family Christmas Dinner at 8pm. The pledge was made, and off I went with my pal Graham, aboard the Nithsdale Loyal from The New Regent Bar. The game was won when the aforementioned Colin Stein scored the only goal of the game in the dying minutes. Unfortunately, our bus broke down before we had gotten out of Edinburgh, and by the time a replacement bus got us back, it was nearly 11 pm before I got in the house. My mum was raging and my Christmas dinner was cold...BUT I was happy, the Rangers had won, so i really didn't care !
  8. Jim Baxter was GOD!!…end of.
  9. ..."loyalty" would appear to be a one way street for some !
  10. John Greig and Jim Steele. I saw Greigy destroy Jim Holton in the infamous "friendly" at Old Trafford in 1974. This was when Holton was in his prime, and regarded as one of the hardest players in the English league. John started that game with his hamstring strapped up, but it didn't stop him. "Six Foot Two, Eyes of Blue, Big Jim Holton's After YOU !!" proving NO match for, "Johnny Greiggy Greiggy Greiggy, Breaks Another Leggy !!" I also remember Jim Steele whilst on a brief loan period with us from Southampton, putting Johnny Doyle Celtic's "electric" winger six feet in the air and on to the ash track in front of the Main Stand at Ibrox. Jim was returned to Southampton early, after 2 sendings off in a month. His do or die play proving too much even for Big Jock Wallace !!
  11. Two of the Greatest Rangers players it has been my privilege to have seen playing in my 50 years of follow-following. A MAGNIFICENT gesture by the Kirkintilloch RSC, in replacing the stolen medal.
