  1. Hope the guy makes a speedy recovery. Always horrible to see that happen, especially on the football pitch.
  2. He's one I always wanted to impress, I always waited on that piece of magic from, but it never came.
  3. Also, I had the last one, and the old stripey one from the 90s, but I prefer when we stick to original colours. My favourite tops were the McEwans Lager sponsor Nike tops, the red one and the white with grey/silver subtle half stripes.
  4. The last one wasn't orange, it was tangerine.
  5. Fuck, times have changed from everyone calling him useless. I remember me and a few others got slated for saying he looked a good player, either way, it's brilliant to see him progressing and everyone get behind him. Brilliant wee player for us this season in all honesty, he's got a fair bit of skill in his locker and he's full of effort. Plays for the jersey.
  6. I can't believe some idiots on this thread, but this is brilliant!
  7. In a four poster bed which cost more than our entire team put together, no doubt.
  8. Exactly. I can only hope though, if he is threatening Administration to oust this HMRC, and in turn just staging a massive bluff. HMRC's hand may be forced, and Whyte could save our club long term and come out of this a massive hero and give the club a new lease of life. That, in my opinion, is the best case scenario, and not completely unrealistic.
  9. Exactly. I will reserve my judgement on Whyte until I know how this goes. The last thing the club needs is to boo the only person who was willing to save this club. I genuinely hope he pulls this off if it is the first option he is trying, but either way, I will be behind Rangers Football Club, and as long as Whyte is a part of that, I am completely behind him too.
  10. No point in thinking about the league at this time, the priority for everyone, including Whyte, is clearly the long term future of Rangers Football Club.
  11. EITHER, Craig Whyte is an absolute fucking mastermind and is taking a huge gamble in order to try oust this HMRC, by staging a massive bluff. Us going into Administration in two weeks would not be favourable to HMRC, so he could save our club long term and come out of this a massive hero and give the club a new lease of life. or Craig Whyte has put us into potential administration, (purely his actions today, as I do not blame Whyte for our worries) - but he has for the sole reason that nothing else has worked, and things can't get much more fucked than we can see in front of us, and the club will still survive, thankfully, but be nothing more than a bit part team in the SPL for the next decade or so, as the transfer embargo that comes with the Administrative status, and the ten point deduction, means no European football or club bonuses in coming years, hence, lower income than we have ever had. I just really hope the first one is true, but I guess time will tell. My mind is fucked though, and has been for the past few months. I don't know what to believe.

  13. For the first time since his reign commenced.
  14. Can I cling onto a dream where Murray comes back and saves us? No, because even at that, he'd cunt it up and we'd end up in even more debt. I don't know what'd be worse out of Murray or Whyte, well I do, Murray, but I wish Whyte would fucking communicate.
  15. Murray is to blame, but Whyte seems to lack a voice. Where's the communication? He tells us not to believe the media, yet he tells us fuck all.
  16. I'm assuming this is to keep one as back up for Mervan. I think Wylde is a bit of a one trick pony and I love Kerkar, so I would keep Kerk and sell Wylde. Think we could squeeze £500k-1mil for him.
  17. I don't get when people are saying we're bigger than _____. No explanation or anything as to in what way we are bigger, or smaller than said clubs. 'Cause we just are isn't exactly mindblowing as an argument.
  18. I think traditional exteriors are what give clubs that nostalgia, that history. It may just be because I am a bear, but when I look at other stadiums, particularly Celtic Park and Hampden Park, I see a mainstream arena, built for the purpose of an event. When I look at Ibrox, I get a special feeling, the feeling of knowing how much has happened beyond the traditional brickwork, the legends who have graced the stadium, it conjures up images of a Lovenkrands screamer against Stuttgart rifling the back of the net, us getting the draw against Inter Milan and qualifying for the CL Knock Out stage for the first time ever, or any time we've ever hammered Celtic here, and the crowd reaction. There is no feeling better, than being at Ibrox and seeing a goal fly in and the reaction that ensues. Ibrox Stadium looks historical, it looks traditional, and the old exterior is perfectly appropriate for the impressive history of our great club. It is more than just a venue.
  19. It depends what you put as the criteria for "biggest", whether footballing, financial, or popularity worldwide. I think, as a club, we are a big club, but as far as these "Euro giants" comments, if you asked someone the biggest teams in Europe, we'd struggle to get in the top ten, maybe even top twenty. How many European trophies have us and them won between us? How many have Liverpool, Man United, Barca, Real Madrid, AC Milan etc etc won. Even clubs like Ajax, Porto, Juventus, Lyon etc, do we go above them? What would justify that? Our trophy count? No one really rates the SPL, so I doubt that. Our European acclaim? I doubt it, one European trophy a piece for the OF, and no Scottish team had qualified for the CL until our draw with Inter got us through in 2005, ever since, both us and Celtic have failed to make a huge impact on that competition, being merely minnows who have come through the groups a couple of times. The Europa or UEFA, sure, we have got to the final, so have they, both of these factors are amazing, yes, but people havee beaten us so surely in terms of football, we go below each of those teams, and all of the ones who progress in the CL. If we aren't such huge fish in football terms, surely we are as a business? Well, if you look at our income, and Celtic's of course, how would it compare to the Premiership, La Liga and Serie A teams. It wouldn't. Our finances are nowhere near what even teams at the bottom of the Premiership, and even a lot in the Championship are, same with most La Liga and Serie A teams. That is before we even think about trying to analyse the current climate at our club. In terms of our support, yes, we make a HUGE impression on any team who comes here, the OF are known for having the best supports in the world, that is the one area where we really make an impact, as being more than a club, but again, teams like Barcelona whose financial situation allows them to be sponsored for charity, etc, would surely be the biggest in the world. I hate to put a dampener on things, really, but we are not one of the biggest clubs in the world, this is a common misconception of the gold fish bowl that is Glasgow. We do have some popularity worldwide, everyone has heard of Rangers and Celtic, when you go abroad, and people know you are Scottish, chances are they will either mention Braveheart, or ask what side you are on, blue or green. We are not unknown, but to believe we are this massive multi-million pound organisation, is a bit over the top, if we were, then we wouldn't have been trying to break into the Chinese market by twinning with a small team there a bit back, and Celtic would not be bringing in Asian players to try get shirt sales, for the past few years. I believe we brought in Matt McKay to try recoup or big Oz following too. Yes, we are a huge club, but saying we are one of the largest in the world, may be a bit overstated. That should not matter though, as to me, we are the biggest club, the only club I care about. We do have the potential though, if the finances are correct, to be one of the biggest.
