  1. Very sad news was one of the best to grace our hallowed arena over the past. Get well soon ma main man Know you will!
  2. Once again the bears faithfull's proud name has been put under a cloud.I don't seem to have seen nothing on the media fronts regarding Manchester City Council's responsibility in this debacle. They knew thousands of bears would be travelling to their city without tickets and in foresight had the sense and the hospitality to erect a giant screen for those fans. Imo what they didn't do was have a contingency plan if something was to go wrong with the big screen. Imo what did MCC and police expect when thousnds of bears travelled to manchester, having been invited to watch in what was no doubt gers biggest cup final since the last euro final,on a giant screen. I've never heard of any major city who erected a giant screen for travelling supporters on the day of a major euro/world cup final who never had tickets and the screen failed to work. Imo MCC should be taking their share of the blame of what happened in Manchester that night. The whole things stinks on MCC front!!! The bears who have received in what i believe to be quite excessive jail terms and their families have my condolences,as they have when you look at the big picture, been made scapegoats out of. Fuck MCC and Fuck Manchester police. In the media they were leading us to believe they wre total innocent's in this story. Only those of us with savvy in these kind of incidents know the real truth.
  3. Good to see Wattie is giving the fruits of labour from the extravagance of murray park their chance to show what they're all about regardless of the true meaning of the game. I hope they all shine and give Wattie something to think about for the future of the club. Our acedemy youngsters i believe most would agree is the way forward for the future of the club.
  4. I believe most bears would be of the same ambition. At least an improvement on last seasons campaign.
  5. Just the thread needed to keep us,the bears, from getting too downbeat with all the news of this and that. Plenty of time for Wattie to make a decent signing or two so let's keep the heids up and remember it's the bheggars not us who are under the most pressure right now,and make no mistake about that one. We are the SPL Champs 2iar and like we've already proved,we don't need shed loads of cash and new signings to do the biz,and we all know it. Keep the faith in Wattie and Co and the players and it will take more than the bheggars new signings from stoppping us winning our 3iar. No Danger.
  6. From what i've seen of him he would be more than adequate to replace boyd imo. Remains to be seen if the lure of playing in the spl, albeit for us as champions and CL football next season, would be enough from stopping him continuing to ply his trade in the cash laden EPL. Would love to see him in a gers jersey next season.
  7. Aye Pure Gallice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Keep the heid m8.Was only asking any of the bears if after another day at the office if there was any developements on the multimillion dollar question we're all tense with will it be or won't it be keen antipitation. If there's nae news there's nae news.48 HRS a.
  9. If someone else says 48hrs i'm gonae aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh
  10. Very good point. We need players who can handle life when it's going tough in the SPL and keep up the true blue never say die attitude, that makes the Gers the Gers.
  11. "I want 5 packets of Quavers, 8 domesticated squirrels and one Buddha statue. Per week." Excellent.
  12. With all the talk today seeming to be focused on transfers,is there any news with a shred of fact aboot the wee small matter of where our beloved club of ours is going? Look at Crystal Palace yesterday, staring liquidation in the eyes within the matter of hours, yes we're talking about Crystal Fing Palace here, who the fck are they i'm hearing from the far reaches of the world? Those few hours up and they've got a consortium to save the day.Who would have thought it? Anyway the famous Gers years on from putting the club up for sale and the rumours of "the deal is done there should be a announcement after the bank holiday". Yes still waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting. Yawning and tearing my hear out at it all. Anyone with any news, good or bad, please FFS gie us a bit a peace. Thank you. From the bears worldwide.
  13. Absolutely.I would believe any young talent being invited to pull on the gers strikers jersey and be part of what we all know is rangers fc,would be enough inspiration for any youngster to really push on in their career and with true self belief make themself into being the finished article they showed promise to be after being signed by one of the worlds most successful clubs in the history of football. How many talented youngsters dream of making happen what i've been saying.Nuff said. Didn't win his young players award for nothing. Can someone tell me would he be a striker that Wattie would want as a replacement for boyd? As we all know we need a player who's going to put the ball in the back of the net like boyd did for us and at the moment i don't believe we have a good enough replacement already in the squad. This summers transfer window is going to be so important in that we get the right replacements for boyd and nacho and signings to freshen and strengthen. Also who knows who else is on their way out.Boogie? Lets hope we get those players as we need if we're to have a hope of mounting the challenge of 3iar on Watties farewell. And even more so if no buyer is in place pre-season. Uncertain and slightly worrying times for me.I hope i'm wrong.
  14. Very well written post and exactly what i and probably many others have thought
  15. No i dinnae agree with people saying the uefa cup loss was more disappointing than beating sellicks record and i believe walter smith, all the players and management, who at some time were involved in the 9iar era i think deep down in their hearts would have said had we beaten sellicks record that from then on,nothing bar beating the record or maybe winning the champions league, would have matched the feeling of beating our greatest rivals record.Never.Still no doubt the uefa cup was a dissapointment, every gers fan felt it!!! I doubt in my generation will we see us do a 10iar,not that i'm ever short of hope and spirit and i'm in my 40's by the way,but there would be nothing more incredible in the future generations than the gers getting that 10iar.May it be,such a club are we,we can make that piece of magical history. WATP. Long Live the "The most successful club in History" The Rangers
  16. it was never meant to be fair, from day 1 the CL was about as many games as possible, therefore as much money as possible for the bigger Clubs in the bigger leagues. I don't think so, Fiorentina was the only one we won on pens and I'm sure that will be counted as two draws. That season our coefficient was just over 22, whereas Sevilla, who had won it the previous two seasons (?) got over 28 both times. http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/data/method4/trank2010.html As I said in an earlier post, don't fully understand how it is worked out. Fellow bears as is life, playing in a small, non big money league does us no favours and yes it's not fair, but until the suit and tie men in uefa decide otherwise, even being the champions of our league no longer gives the right to auto qualification, from after next season.Just like the idea of introducing video playback into our game as a tool to making the game fairer the powers that be just turn their heeds in ignorance.Really makes me wonder, hidden agendas and aw that.Fuckin bollox aye.Who needs them we will still turn out as the most domestically successful club in the world.Nae surrender.Nae danger. 53and counting. WATP.
  17. Exactly my sentiments buba.If the tournament is for the champions of the respective euro leagues, hence the title of the comp "UEFA Champions League" then simply said champions should auto qualify for it,otherwise they should look at re-naming the comp and the whole working model of how the euro system,co-effiency,tournaments etc. It aint doing rangers and scottish football no good at all.
  18. Not a chance with Utd breathing down their necks for second. I agree they won't hand it to us with UTD chasing them for 2nd and Lennon with the only thing worth now saving to persuade the green mobs hierarchy not to ditch him for next season, not that i think that would be a bad thing seeing lemon head with the task of turning the piggery around.
  19. I know most of us bears have been right at Laffertys throat this season for all the rght reasons but what a goal from him for us at a time when i was seeing shades of last wednesday going through my head in a game we had to win especiallly with the next 3 games all away against the toughest opponents in the league. Nice 1 Laffs it was no doubt the changing point in the game. Party at Easter Rd very much on.
  20. Shades of Wednesday anybody?Soon as i saw the team sheet with Lafferty, missing a great chance our best chance at the end there,Smith should get him tae fcuk and get novo on,he's a waste of space as usual and the same McCulloch/Thomson midfield lacking creativity, fuck sake the defense is doing the job of the midfield!!! Lets hope we see some change in the 2nd cuz i see this as a must win game being our first of only 2 home games left and then the worst possible 3 away games we would have wanted in the space of ten days. Fcuk hearts haven't even troubled greggs so far. Lets hope Smiths team talk has the desired.

  22. Totally agree with muffs team selection and if i remember rightly this was much the same selection we had during our only month where we played like champs and was great to watch,December,i believe we also scooped player and manager of the month to boot. But like someone else said we know Wattie won't pick this side. Even though the majority of fans on the thread would agree this is the side to pick, bar maybe Alexander who i think know i would pick ahead of greggs cuz of his aimlees punts up the park.
  23. Agree that lafferty should be binned to the highest bidder as he's well had more than his fair shout for opportunities since he's been at the club and Smith should park his arse unless he's really needed. As for Naismith ok he's still very young and had a terrible injury to overcome but again agree with above other than hearts match i would keep him on the bench too until needed.Still could improve in the near future and Smith seems to think a lot of him, time will tell if he's the real deal to hang on to his gers jersey.
  24. Na mon everyone knows we'd love to go to parkheid either with the the title already won or winning it on their own soil. Just imagine it.Pure sublime. :drugang:
