  4. here is the article May 11 2010 By Keith Jackson SOUTH AFRICAN tycoon Dave King has held peace talks with Rangers owner Sir David Murray as he considers making a counter bid to buy out the crisis-hit club. Record Sport can reveal King - who was at Ibrox on Sunday to watch Walter Smith's side celebrate a second successive SPL title - left Glasgow after the match to meet with Murray in Edinburgh and bury the hatchet after years of bad blood between the pair. The meeting was one of several face-to-face encounters which King has conducted during a return to Scotland. It is understood he held talks with Gers boss Walter Smith, as well as other key players in the boardroom, heightening expectation that he is about to make a formal offer to rival the £33 million proposal put forward by London property developer Andrew Ellis. King hopes to continue this series of meetings over the next few days and it is anticipated he will not return to South Africa until this weekend at the earliest - by which time he could have made up his mind on his next move. Ellis hinted last week he is on the verge of concluding a deal with Murray but King and his cohorts believe they have the time and financial clout to muscle the Englishman out. The King consortium includes financial high-flyer Paul Murray and bus tycoon Douglas Park. And they are understood to have also been involved in discussions with the club's bankers, Lloyds Group, who held a separate meeting yesterday with chief executive Martin Bain and chairman Alastair Johnston to outline a contingency plan for the club if a new buyer is NOT secured. Under the terms of the agreement Smith will be handed a sum of just £5m to sign new players and pay for any contract extensions - although he has been assured any money brought in from transfer sales, like Danny Wilson's imminent £2m move to Liverpool, will be added in full to his kitty. But the manager has not given up hope of King rising to the rescue and the thawing of relations between King and Murray could prove critical. Both men know it is now or never and, with manager Smith demanding the situation is resolved before the end of this month, the King group realise the need for greater urgency. As we revealed, King was the first to attempt to buy control of the club when his consortium were willing to pay the bankers £18m in exchange for having the club's £31m debt wiped out. The proposal was never officially put in front of Murray, who stood to pocket just £1 for his shares and was booted out. But it's understood he reacted angrily to what he saw as an attempt to buy his club on the cheap. Murray was further outraged when news of an ongoing tax probe into the club's affairs was leaked to a group of Glasgow newspapers amidst claims the HMRC investigation had scared off Ellis and left his proposals "dead in the water". In an interview with Record Sport, Murray reacted furiously to those reports, demanding any other interested party should "put up or shut up" and now King and his backers are about to make their next move. This time, however, they will have to at least match the £33m which Ellis has set aside to finance his plans - and in doing so agree to pay Murray

  12. on ff from a good source Hi , Not sure if Alex posted his information. Club is pretty much in the hands of the bank. The Andrew Ellis deal is dead in the water. Dave King is still interested but due to the CL money, the bank are not prepared to make any deals and want their pound of flesh. The banks do not want the fans to turn on them and DK is asking for the fans to ask where the CL money is going to buy players or pay off Murray's debt the club are in a complete mess with money being siphoned off all the time. The only way he see's an improvement is if the fans ask questions and turn on Muir and the bank. We have not reached the bottom but there is no money for players. Not a great situation to be in, will wait for your ok prior to posting. Cheers Alex
