JCDBigBear reacted to bornabear in RIP Ian McMillan
Sad news on the passing of "The Wee Prime Minister", who I had the good fortune of watching him play.
My condolences to his family.
RIP Ian.

A win is all that matters. If we go top, great, but there's a lot of football to play yet

I swear all you need is a decent agent, a fancy haircut and a singular name and you go for zillions

We should just make the most of him while he is here. Can't see us getting him on loan again next season.

JCDBigBear got a reaction from Bears r us in Goldson
Goldson's problem is he thinks he's a footballer. He can ping a long ball which is good but when he starts to get clever at the back instead of making either a simple pass or booting into safety that is when he mucks up or gets caught out.

Not aware we have any option to buy Sima.

He had a decent spell when he joined, I think that's still in there for sure. Hope he manages to reignite that.
Agree that he's offering nothing at present.

My biggest concern about Raskin is he goes through the majority of games he plays without impacting it. When he arrived you could see what he could offer. Thought he pressed well and you could see he could pass through the lines.
But this season pre and post injury he has regressed so much I’d argue he’s 5th or 6th choice in midfield right at the moment. Lundstram, Jack, Sterling, Lawrence and Diomande are all ahead of him in there just now. And I’d even suggest Dowell has shown more than him in there this season.
I thought he’d pick up when Clement came in with him knowing him from Belgium but the injury hampered that. He looks overweight to me but don’t know if that’s just his body and face shape.
With Diomande’s arrival I expect him to make that position his own beside Lundstram within the next month or so. Big few months ahead for him.

I don't think he's shown enough in the time he's been here. The "impact" he had last season was overblown, based on the fact Kamara had checked out.
I did see some favourable stats for him recently (not goals and assists) but he doesn't pass the eye test. I do want to give him some time to get back up to speed after his injury but he's certainly not at the top of the midfield pecking order.

Back in from the game, positives through to next round, clean sheet, Cortes performance, game time for Diomande.
Negatives were the performances from Goldson, Raskin, Wright and the team generally with some sloppy play and lack of intensity.
Easiest team at home in the next round.
On to Wednesday night.

Stop kidding yersel on mate, he was fucking terrible all game....regardless of your feelings over Raskin & Dessers it doesn't detract from the fact that Scott Wright is fucking terrible

I think a good few posters in here never heard the managers presser....clearly said that Cortes & Diomande were fit to start but unable to play the 90 and Lawrence was left out as a precaution the same as what they had done with Jack in midweek as bith build back up to fitness

Certainly was a hard watch, similar to many of our games against lower league teams. We go ahead then slow the game down to their comfort level and the sloppy passing and poor ball control comes in. Why do we keep on doing this no matter who the manager has been? Thankfully the subs brought a bit more urgency to calm nerves and Cantwell brought much needed guile.

Hard watch but into the next round and thats all that matters, Cortes looks good also liked Diomande think he will be a player once fully upto speed.
Raskin was poor but still can't get over Collum giving a foul against him for a perfectly good tackle in the 2nd half, Scott Wright should be kept in storage until we reach hampden.

Doesn't look good enough to even be a squad player now.

Didn't get enough playing time for anyone to really find out if he could play. Good luck to him in Brazil. The better he plays the more likely we get some decent cash for him.

Typical SFA move and on a televised game which is not a coincidence.

I would have started him before Dessers last night.
