  1. Here's the reality: Jim McAlister looks set to see a move to boyhood heroes Rangers scuppered. The midfielder has been offered a two-year extension by Dundee but has had contact with a number of other interesting suitors. Premiership outfit Kilmarnock have cast their eye over the 29-year-old. It’s believed newly-promoted Hearts may also been keen to add him to their ranks. But it’s been the interest from Championship Rangers which is the most intriguing, with McAlister a former Ibrox season ticket-holder.
  2. Evening Times are reporting that Bomber Jackson has passed away at the age of 68 after a long battle with Leukaemia.
  3. Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes features on a wish list of candidates to become the next manager of Rangers. Stuart McCall will meet Ibrox directors for discussions in the coming days, with sources insisting no final decision has been made on the interim boss’s future. Sunday’s defeat to Motherwell in the Premiership play-off final has, however, inevitably dented the former Scotland midfielder’s hopes of landing the post on a permanent basis Sportsmail understands Rangers directors were in advanced talks with an unnamed candidate in the event of the club being promoted to Scotland’s top tier. But a 6-1 aggregate defeat to the Fir Park club has brought that pursuit to an end and prompted a revision of the managerial wish list. Former Brentford boss Mark Warburton has already been sounded out with right-hand man David Weir and expressed his ‘huge respect’ for the club. Former Nottingham Forest, Derby and Preston manager Billy Davies is also desperate for the job. But McInnes is also being strongly discussed in the Rangers boardroom after leading Aberdeen to their first silverware since 1995 last term and pushing Celtic for the League Championship this season. It’s far from certain the 43-year-old would return to the club he played for between 1995 and 2000. Under contract at Pittodrie until the summer of 2017, McInnes recently completed the signings of Inverness defender Graeme Shinnie and is pursuing a deal for Ross County’s Paul Quinn. With no contact having been made so far, Rangers have yet to establish if he would seriously consider dropping down to manage in the Scottish Championship after leading the Dons into Europe for a second successive season. Or what the compensation bill might be. Warburton is also in the running despite concerns over his pedigree and potential wage demands. The Englishman left Brentford at the end of the season and offered his first comment on the link, saying: ‘Rangers are a massive club. ‘I have huge respect for the size of the club and the fanbase at Rangers. Who wouldn’t? ‘I am well aware of the tradition and history of the club, so I would never be anything other than absolutely respectful of a club of that stature.’ Former Rangers winger Neil McCann, meanwhile, believes McCall is no longer an option in the aftermath of the Motherwell defeat, telling Sky Sports: ‘If he had taken them up I’d say he is the right man for the job, but he had seven wins in his time in charge and that’s not a sparkling stat. ‘He’ll admit to that and he tried his utmost but the results aren’t good enough.’
  4. Ashley was on Tyneside for the Sports Direct end-of-season conference in the early part of the week and is understood to have spoken to Charnley at length about the plans for next season. He has given the green light to spending a big chunk of last seasons profit on new players to take the club away from the trouble that they found themselves in until the final week of last season. And interestingly the club are also looking at bringing in a couple of young development players as they look to replicate the success of the Ayoze Perez deal. Concern about the crop of players coming through the Academy is nothing new and it has been re-stated in recent weeks when Newcastle had little to draw upon from the youth set-up despite a flurry of injuries and suspensions. Despite a re-organising of the Academy there arent many that will be able to make the next step and of those who might, United will send Adam Armstrong out on loan after seeing him stagnate this season. Shane Ferguson, Haris Vuckic and Gael Bigirimana will also be free to leave and Newcastle have released Jonas Gutierrez and Ryan Taylor as part of a cull of first-teamers. Newcastle admitted to making mistakes and know that they need to reclaim momentum
  5. Not expecting any change. McCall and Black will get the gig.
  6. Seems someone on Twitter jumped the gun on this. My son showed me this from his Facebook so sorry for misleading people: Man that collapsed in the Club Deck at Ibrox yesterday; alive and recovering in Hospital. His son said this on social media: "was my dad that had a seizure in the club deck, glad to say he's recovering in hospital. Medics seemed to take ages to get there but a massive thanks to everyone that came to help, especially the off duty doctors, myself and my brother didn't have a clue what to do. Hes a bit confused but already asking us to get him tickets for the Hibs game but one step at a time I think!!"
  7. I haven't got a link. My son showed me on his Twitter account that someone had died in the Club Deck. Only info I have unfortunately.
  8. What a Player Colin was. He puts the current lot to shame. There was never a lost cause when he played. He chased down everything and he must have been a defenders nightmare. I was privileged to see those first 2 games and he remains my hero to this day. He brings back some memories - that opening goal in the ECWC Final. Woooooft!
  9. Seems that STV have followed through with an article penned by Grant Russell about stricter sanctions for fan misbehaviour. That would seem OK on the face of it excepting the article has a picture of Rangers fans and the Union Flag so the message is very clear about who are the perpetrators .Interestingly his Twitter feed is full of compliments from bheast fans and he does not respond to Rangers fans who object. The PsyOps inflicted on the general Public by Scotland's media is blatantly obvious as are the outcomes we witness when Rangers fans are demonised at every opportunity. What a sad little Country Scotland has become with its obsessive politically correct culture riddled with handwringers.
  10. This same @AgentScotland say Wallace is being touted around English Clubs for £600-£800 but no interest so far. ICT interested in Nicky Clarke on loan but wages are off putting. He seems to be getting a few things right and is being followed by quite a few Scottish Jourmos.
  11. Vukcic on his way according to @AgentScotland on Twitter. Newcastle paying 100% of wages.
  12. The picture was posted by Templeton's girlfriend and quickly deleted by her. Nobody is certain it was last night and that needs to be established. If so what a slap in the face to Bears.
  13. According to Mark Snell at the SFA the ticket allocation was agreed last week. Rangers - 25000 Utd - 13000 That over 12,000 left and we are not guaranteed to be allocated any more.
  14. I would have thought it started almost immediately after the AGM and therefore would finish around end March. I see the hiring of Nash as part of the process and not the start date for the 120 days. Personally I have no reason to mistrust Wallace's words and I fully expect he or the Club will be making statements during the 120 days e.g. the discussion to reduce Players wages by 15% as well as making a final announcement.
  15. I thought you no longer liked RM? Mr Rentier McAdam ‏@rossmcadam 37m @_siMan__ @GersnetOnline @ChrisGraham76 Maybe I'm biased, as I only use RM because it was a fantastic forum, can't say the same anymore Mr Rentier McAdam ‏@rossmcadam 39m @_siMan__ @GersnetOnline @ChrisGraham76 Some of things I've seen let go on there are pretty staggering. Some really personal stuff.
  16. Totally agree D'Art. We will get to hear what the Board want us to here and the rest will be left to the speculation of the Bloggers and Twitter experts.
  17. What I am attempting to say D'Art is that South Africa in itself is so corrupt that anyone who is reliant on the ANC, including Judges, has to tow the line if they wish to progress their career. You just cannot take anything that is Government oriented at face value and King was a target and expendable. As far as King himself is concerned I have a problem with how he conducted business in South Africa at the time he owned Specialised Outsourcings. However, in saying that I can understand why he did what he did as there was widespread concern about the political situation and many, many people wanted their money offshore and used any means to get it there. His Rangers credentials are unquestioned and I doubt he would try to pull a fast one here but after Whyte & Co you learn to trust nobody.
  18. Apologies D'Art but I am going to take issue with you on your article and in particular to your isolation of the remarks of Judge Southwood in 2011. Now I am not going to defend King or his insider trading (which was not illegal at the time in South Africa)but there are a few facts that need to be pointed out regarding the South African Judiciary. Firstly they are politically appointed and not independent of the ruling political Party as in the UK. Next is the ruling Party in South Africa is the ANC who are regarded by many, many South Africans as totally corrupt and having looted South Africa since they took office in 1994.SARS is one of the ANC's weapons of choice to pursue rich White businessmen and relieve them of their wealth (one of the many reasons giant Corporates such as Old Mutual, Anglo American and SA Breweries sought listings on the LSE).King's 13 year running battle with SARS and the NPA was major headlines in South Africa during its tenure. The Media were used to character assassinate King and make him the devil incarnate amongst the general population which is quite typical of ANC tactics in conducting Trial by Media. Despite this campaign the NPA were never able to secure a conviction against King in a Court of Law mainly for lack of evidence. It would be a reasonable assumption to make then that by 2011 they were completely frustrated so lets consider Judge Southwood. He was appointed to the Transvaal Bar in 1993 and by 2004 his legal career had reached a frustrating ceiling. So he applied for a Senior Judge position in the Supreme Court of Appeal but unfortunately he wasn't accepted - Judges grilled for posts 2004-10-28 08:43 Cape Town - Six candidates vying for three posts vacant at the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) were grilled on Wednesday by the Judicial Service Commission on a wide range of topics. The commission is conducting week-long interviews to appoint people to the bench at the African Court of Human and Peoples' Rights, the Cape Provincial Division, the Natal Provincial Division, the Mmabatho High Court, the Transvaal Provincial Division and the Witwatersrand Local Division. The last of the candidates interviewed for one of the SCA positions, Judge Brian Southwood, was asked about politics at the Pretoria Bar, if and how he helped transfer skills, and whether he thought South Africa had adequate intellectual property legislation, his professed field of expertise. Justice Minister Bridget Mabandla seemed disappointed with Southwood's answer on the legislation question, saying she thought he would have been able to fill in the gaps. 'Legislation needs realignment' "We think we need to realign our legislation. Not only us," said Mabandla. Southwood said he felt South Africa was "in tune" with other countries, having an array of legislation such as the Copyright Act, Patents Act and Plant Breeders Rights Act. Asked by advocate Milton Seligson SC, if there was room to relax patent laws in some areas, such as generic medicines, to benefit the poor, Southwood said it could be done. Southwood said holders of patents should realise they had "moral obligations" to uphold, and should not only worry about commercial interests. Southwood, who was appointed a judge in the Transvaal court in 1993, said he was applying for the SCA position because it was "more intellectually stimulating" and less tiring. Southwood described himself as a liberal democrat, who during his tenure as chairman of the Pretoria Boys High School's governing body, had advocated an open admissions policy for all races. 'Must be something extra' He said he treated everybody with courtesy and respect and had helped an employee of his with 27 years acquire a house, and helped provide her children with education. "I would like to think that... I attempted to make the country a better place, maybe in a small way," he said. Southwood was responding to a prompt from Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Lindiwe Hendricks, who was trying to gauge his temperament and said: "There must be something extra before we add another white judge (to the SCA". Southwood said he was in favour of transforming the Pretoria Bar during the 1970s when black, Indian and coloured advocates were not admitted. However, he admitted that he had not done anything to transfer intellectual property skills to other black or previously disadvantaged people. Other candidates interviewed on Wednesday for the SCA positions included Judges Nkola John Motata, Visvanathan Moonsamy Ponnan, Dunstan Mlambo, Christopher Nyaole Jafta and Ronald Jonathan Wilshire Jones. SAPA Here comes the good news for Judge Southwood though. He was eventually appointed to the Supreme Court in April 2012 some 6 months after his remarks in Court towards King. No doubt 6 years of re-education and demonstrable proof of his allegiances and credentials were extremely helpful in his next application for promotion.
  19. Neither am I considering its all in South African Rand and that Country has very strict rules about transferring it overseas. And don't be fooled by the previous £20 million. The circumstances in South Africa were very different then and may not apply today - especially to King.
  20. The incompetence of the NPA in South Africa is the stuff of legends and that's well apart from the King case. The South African judicial system relies heavily on direct evidence i.e. admissions by individuals, witness statements etc and the usual way of obtaining this is by beating the shit out of people in some or other police cell. Anyone who is familiar with South Africa will know that since 1994 the ANC have embarked upon a systematic looting of the Country including the targeting of rich White owned businesses and individuals. SARS has been a very useful tool they use. In the King case they spent 13 years with the NPA chasing him and got nowhere in terms of a conviction having to resort to a plea bargain to save face and money.
  21. I think you have to look at the author of the article and ask yourself some questions. Lindsay Herron who recently left Rangers. I don't know why he left or even if it was made Public. Does he have an axe to grind against the current Board?
