First off, I think Ally is an incredibly poor manager. I didn't want him in charge when we were in the SPL, didn't want him in charge when we dropped down the leagues and definitely don't want him in charge now. We've f***ed a very good chance to make a go of being a progressive club (on the park, at least) and he has to take a large part of the responsibility for that. I do believe, however, that we are holding him to standards that other managers weren't held to. Attractive football and bringing youths through were never on Smith's list of priorities. Ally is basically doing what Walter did; outspending the opposition and grinding out results.
