As said Blackwell was game... however he got rocked with scores of hard punches. Tbh, rarely do you see a guy get hit that hard that often.... and still keep coming.
The commentators made it sound closer than it was. It was a beating at times and I think Blackwell corner let the occasion cloud judgement. The referee also should of been checking Blackwell more, the guy was too brave for his own good and after some of those big punch rallies, he should of been checking. 
That is the most dangerous type of fight. Eubank hits plenty hard, but he isn't a KO specialist. Taking 1x big KO punch is nowhere near as bad as taking +50x hard punches. Only one fighter was getting hit with regular hard punches last night. Yes Eubank took a few from Blackwell, it's boxing and it happens... but there were periods of the fight where Eubank couldn't miss. Hard uppercut after hard uppercut. Hard hook after hard hook. 
Eubank Snr gets ridiculed often, but he's been there with Watson (Eubank was never the same fighter after Watson... he'd be reluctant to go on the offense against a hurt opponent. The same recurring theme from the season rears it's head yet again. Well are so wastefulwasteful I'm front of goal its becoming embarrassing. The longer it stays 0-0 the harder it becomes to get that vital first goal any dropping any points here today would be utterly unacceptable.

Ball wasn't the reason for a lack of creativity at the weekend he wasn't the problem, it was the diabolical performances from Nicky Law and Dean Shiels neither of whom got in the game at all. Ball did his job well enough, he's not the long term answer to that position at all but he didn't do to badly.
