im not sure, I was thinking Rossiter, Coulibally and Ejaria will be the top 3 if everyone is fit. Arfield being the next up for sure. The boss made the point that Rossiter was showing up the best in Spain until the ankle knock. And his description of Coulibally suggests that he will be the anchor in the middle of our midfield.

I think once his fitness levels are better Ejaria will start most games for us. As will Rossiter None of the starting midfield tonight will be regular starters I think

we played better than last year obviously. However our goals came from an iffy penalty and a goalie mistake. WE need to improve personnel in the forward areas IMO

Bolstered at the Back, Still lacking up Top

thought defensively we were ok, but 2 things worried me. 2 or 3 times Tav was drawn inside and left a wide open forward on his own and was bailed out by a bad pass. Hopefully the boss shows him the video and nips that in the bud. And the other was for us still to have problems defending set pieces despite being a much bigger side than last year. Hopefully that is due to players not knowing each other as it is early doors. I wasnt expecting much offensively as its mainly the same players as last season and we did not do well against packed defenses last season.

Would add some creativity to the midfield. Would give us a set piece specialist. Not the fleetest of foot but squad is filled with plenty of runners to do that for him

on BT Sport Charlie Adam refusing to rule out a return. Says his situation is in Stokes hands but that going back to Rangers would be a fantastic option for him. Sounds like he is telling Stoke if you dont play me, im off.

Ben Woodburn and Ryan Kent (Liverpool)

that would be our front 3 with Woodburn central.

    Jon Flanagan

Ultimately, can he better the team? Clearly the answer to that question is yet, plus the fact that he can play on both sides gives the manager extra flexibility with his lineup. As long as he is not asking for crazy money, I'd sign him in an instant

I cant see him starting too many games to be honest. Playing 3 in there may help in that but I see him as currently 3rd in line for the holding role behind Jack and Rossiter.

Not for me, if fit, Rossiter has the pedigree and has far more to his overall game than McCrorie. McCrorie can play in 2 positions though so will be useful for the bench

Does this mean a return for Miller and Wallace???

IMO you pick he best team available especially at this stage of the year. If that means they play then so be it

both of them are rank average, though Bates defends the better of the 2

hes just not a player. I know we all want a local lad to do well but hes no better than some of the players we sent out on loan to the Championship the last few years.

fools a lot of us as he looks good with the ball at his feet. But gets caught out of position far too much to be considered a prospect.
