Brilliant post very enlightening, I particularly connected with the "respect" people from both camps used to have for each other, my Grandfather was a Celtic supporter when everyone else in our whole extended family where Rangers men, I asked him one day when I was about 8 and just starting to get into football and Rangers "why do you support Celtic Granda" his answer was " I'm a Tollcross man son and they are my local team" His wife my beloved Gran was a staunch Orange woman and held a high position within the Lodge (quite rare in those days) but still made tablet and fairy cakes every Sunday that she would take to give to the local nuns. She did this because she had had to flee an evil father who after the death of his wife would beat my Gran senseless every pay day and the nuns took her in and she never forgot this. I agree with the OP we should never allow evil bigots like Phil McGobblegiver to influence us in any way to respond to his hate with the same only diminishes us. I love my Club my country and the traditions that bind us and I refuse to hate someone just because they hate me.
