  1. You want me to prove something I didn't say? I think you would be found guilty based on the law, cases and what you are saying your defence would be. It is an opinion on the verdict the court would give, not up to me to judge.I haven't used the word bigot or suggested you hate catholics, I don't think I have even used that word either.
  2. As I understand it, the Billy refers to King William, not Billy Fullerton, and that his gang took The Billy Boys moniker from that, when it gets to The Brigton Billy Boys, then it is very clearly referring to that.
  3. If your case is that the song the Rangers fans all song has its origins with your father being called Billy, that is fine, it sounds entirely plausible. I haven't even said it is offensive, just what the origins are. The only reason I mentioned it is because people want to stick with an original definition of Fenian, but an updated definition of Billy Boys, which is somewhat hypocritical. You keep saying that I am accusing you of not knowing about the place you grew up in, your whole point seems to be that you don't know about it. Carry on singing it, just not where the club would ask you not to, if you please.
  4. Tell you what Copland Bear, just go for it. Sing it loud and proud (not inside the stadium), get arrested, tell the judge that you know everything in the world about Bridgeton (apart from some gangs that you have never heard of) and what Fenian means and I will wish you the very best of luck. I suggest you would be found guilty and probably banned from Ibrox, but genuinely hope not.
  5. You are doing a fantastic job of not answering the challenge of giving us any other origin to The Billy Boys. I do agree that it is possible that you have forgotten a lot of stuff though. Do you think it is only possible for me to know the origin of the song if I lived there?
  6. It's what it is about. You haven't given me any other idea as to its origins, other than you just want it to be something different.
  7. With the greatest respect, the guy who is banging on about it does not know the origins of the song.
  8. Because even the Billy Boys were named for King William, not Fullerton. So, you could go with Billy for that. Billy Boys was synonymous with the gang. I genuinely don't really give a monkeys, and very few people are offended or care about that part of the song anyway, we all know what they have a problem with.
  9. I think we have tried in the past. The problem tends to be that you can't do anything about what people will actually sing. I don't think the club would go along with EBT anyway, because it would be well, not really something for them to endorse. It always takes me back to the old days when we would get a full version of Simply The Best before the game, it was pulled for 'add-ons' and the club brought it back, practically begging the fans to leave out the FTP.... And it lasted about 2 weeks.
  10. Massive year for us, and if we make as much progress all around as we have in 2015, I will be a very happy man.
  11. The Billy Boys is absolutely a song about that gang. It isn't hearsay it is absolutely a fact. If you want to enlighten us with your version of events, you go for it.
  12. Your lack of knowledge about songs we have sung over the years is quite startling.
  13. Making up quite a few facts yourself to suit whatever you would like the truth to be. But to humour me, why was Tommy Burns a 'sad, Fenian bastard'? Was he an enemy of the crown and a terrorist?
  14. The tune is Marching through Georgie, which is neither here nor there. Also, your lack of knowledge when you sing it is entirely your own affair, the song is about what it is about.
  15. That is very similar, but also slightly different. Many believe that in present day terms the reference to Fenian is also quite straight forward.
  16. Well, you have to prove it because you are saying something that isn't true, having some basis for saying it would be handy.
  17. It really isn't my fault if you don't know the derivation of the song. That is what the song is about, deal with it.
  18. So, we mean the original definition of Fenian, but an updated definition of Billy Boys... This is complicated stuff.
  19. How does the song have nothing to do with the razor gang?
  20. The club do not want or need the hassle associated with all of this stuff, the club have asked fans repeatedly for many years to stop it, even had Walter Smith talking about it at a press conference. Fans who are so bloody minded that they cannot stop themselves from going against the club's express wishes should take a look at themselves and ask why they believe they are bigger than Rangers. If you want to be a test case then go and sing it outside a police station and fight your way through the courts, I think you will most probably lose, because this ridiculous law exists and is interpreted in an extreme way, nonetheless, go for it. But don't go against what the club repeatedly ask for and then tell anyone who disagrees with you that they aren't true fans, just because they abide with the club's wishes.
  21. He is a complete fruit loop but he certainly has a point. Strange how the Celtic-minded in the media who told him to go home were absolved of any suggestion of racism....
  22. No, the club's stance is in what the club say, not what the fans say. After Murray, there have always been messages asking fans to refrain. The club also give bans out to fans who are arrested for singing and chanting. The reason the SFA have not been able to fine us so far is because the club makes all efforts to discourage it and therefore aren't held liable for it. And if anyone thinks that in the middle of trying to get representation at the top level of Scottish football, still fighting off the odd title stripping attempt and generally trying to get the infrastructure right that the club are going to launch into a battle with the football authorities and probably the Scottish government over this, then I am afraid they are deluded.
  23. As a club we are not at a crossroads, the club have made their views clear on this for many, many years and that is not going to change.
  24. He is fine, no idea why there is such a dislike of him here. It wasn't him at fault for either of the goals on Monday, both of which had pretty glaring errors, so why he is picked out to get criticised is just baffling.
