glasgow argyle reacted to KingKirk in Next Manager Discussion Thread
Dyche was my first choice but am delighted with beale coming in to be honest.
A proper coach who will make sure we're properly set up with and without the ball. He will also bring a clear style of play. Hopefully with his own slant on things but that style had us competing easily with teams in who are this year in the champions league last 16.
The fact he was wolves top choice just shows how highly rated he is in England.
He might not get us to a European final soon but one thing he will do is end the continuous beatings at the hands of the scum.

Anyone else missing the days when this thread was about the next Rangers manager?

Feel a bit bad because he was one of my heroes growing up. I suppose nothing will ever change that but it's a shame it didn't work out as a manager. All the best to him wherever he ends up next.

Hes delivered some of the most memorable nights in Europe, Dortmund and RB right up there with the best ever atmospheres.
All the best to Gio and his Family.

I'd take the Haifa manager in a heartbeat
Hapoel Be'er Sheva hadn't won that league in 40 years, he won 3 on the bounce, he then went to Maccabi Haifa who hadn't won it in a decade and won it 2 years in a row with them too
With better players and a bigger budget I can see him doing well

Don’t even give a fuck if people disagree or not, but the way some people have spoken about him isn’t befitting of the way any decent Rangers supporter should act.
He’s not up to the job, we’ve known that for a while now, but it’s still disappointing that he didn’t work out because he’s a nice guy and as a player he did well for us too.
Hopefully people will stop being so venomous and toxic now and they maybe grow up a bit and realise you can want a managerial change without being a total cunt about it.

A win here would be HUGE for Gio. Two good wins on the bounce before the break. Get some players back and a few signings in January to get a bit of bite back in the team.

You are entitled to your opinion, you obviously have a grudge against S.G. I know a lot of fans do, but I am eternally grateful for him for 55, I know he was in charge when we lost to Malmo, but still think if he had got some financial backing to bring in a quality midfield playmaker at least, he may well have stayed, there is no doubt we are weaker now than we were then.

That's why S.G. left , I don't blame him, that's why we are struggling just now, for the same reason, was so disappointed no fresh arrivals before window closed. When we have been crying out for a real mid field quality playmaker, and R.W. has been a glaring issue for far too long.
Yes we've been unlucky with injuries, but there must have been some funds available. The AGM should prove once and for all there is cash available, not massive amounts as some fans claim, but surely enough to strengthen those 2 areas at least.

Are we not past this yet?
Gerrard got to 0 Euro finals
How many managers have we had that finished 25 points above celtic and was the catalyst for their Captain, Manager and Chairman to leave?
How many managers have we had that went 7 games undefeated against celtic.
Seriously m8 you have your opinion and I'll have mine as we're going round in circles here.

Boys not long back from an injury and just getting mins back and playing against Ajax who have great players. To be thrown on against Ajax is a lot different to that against St Johnstone.

Going to be a tough watch. But hopefully can just keep grinding out results till Xmas where we get about 10 players back from injury.
On the positive side. Kamara and Lowry back so we at least have 2 players capable of passing forward to watch

glasgow argyle reacted to RWB72 in Rangers in Euro Super League (Staying in Scotland - Leaving Uefa Comps)
We are only 'shite' at the moment at the top level due to monetary reasons (plus manager but that's a separate issue)
The fans stadium atmosphere & support are already top level
If you give us premier league money I think we'd be atleast competing quite quickly

All players gave a good contribution and yes some better than others but they played to a better standard yesterday, thankfully.
Onwards and upwards I hope as we can get £2.5 million on Tuesday with a home win 🙏

He got turned inside out for the goal , definitely a player there who could be a stalwart at the back for us - if we keep him . There’s always something incredibly satisfying about a bluenose coming through the ranks in to the first.

glasgow argyle reacted to Kylegib in Gio Discussion Thread
He may not have lost the dressing room and yesterday's performance was very good and we should have won by a bigger margin. The fact still remains though that under Gio we have suffered our worst ever defeat at Ibrox and could become the worst team to compete in the champions league if we don't get a result on Tuesday night and I don't think he'll survive that. I do think he's unlucky as the board should've backed him after we qualified for the champions league.
-
glasgow argyle reacted to Kylegib in AGM Questions
Do you not think we'd have had a far better chance of beating Malmo had the board backed Gerrard after winning the titleallowing him to freshen the playing squad up with quality players which would've given the whole club a lift. We had also been performing consistently well in Europe which must've raised huge amounts of money, we had players that would've demanded some hefty transfer fees so the funds could certainly have been generated to back him but for some strange reason the board chose not to do so.
-
glasgow argyle got a reaction from Kylegib in AGM Questions
Agree with that, however we are definitely weaker now than when S.G left, Bassey a big miss, Aribo also, and Kamara downing tools hasn't helped , unlucky with injuries, Kent & Morelos very poor, and new additions by and large very poor, I think the board made exactly the same mistake before the window closed this season and last.

Reminds me of Ted McMinn, can be brilliant or bang average, unpredictable, exciting, or poor, but always tries his heart out

Honestly don’t know how anyone could moan about that - it was what we’ve been crying out for all season
Plenty of aggression and attacking play, plus we absolutely peppered their goal. If we had scored 8 or 9 Aberdeen would have had no complaints. That’s the team that was sitting 3rd in the league before today.
What put the biggest smile on my face was seeing Tav pop up at the back post with a goal. We’ve missed it all season long
