  1. It's that long ago that I think I'm mixing up real life with a championship manager save!
  2. Aye cause Man City have not at all benefitted from getting taken over by a fucking oil state and breaking FFP for the best part of a decade. Cunts are moaning about the amount of transfer fees sitting on the bench one minute, then saying transfer fees have no importance the next. We were absolute underdogs at the start of the season because they spend more than us on their football operations, including wages, coaching and transfer fees. Them spending tens off millions more than us in transfers over the last few years gives them an advantage, denying it silly. Combine this with them also paying for a manager with massive experience and EPL level and their advantage grows. We need a manager who will get every fucking bit of value we can from our players and budgets. I doubt this is Beale, but have no idea who we should get. We need them to have a season underperforming and us overperforming to have a chance. We then close the gap a bit and have to hope for the same again.
  3. The money is obviously a problem, denying it is a bit mad. They have spent tens of millions more than us over the last few years. We have rebuilt half out team over the summer, yet they spent more than us without a rebuild. Anyone saying that there is not a gulf in finances, or that it somehow does not give them an advantage is just fucking mental. Of course it does.
  4. Well when you also consider that their new signing from Liverpool was not up to speed, then yes, it's very much a sign that they have strength in dept.
  5. They had a few players who stood out I think. Obviously Ravanelli and Cannegia being the obvious ones, but then you had guys like Ketsbaia, Nemsadze. Up front I always thought Caballero was the stand out. Think another guy Juan Sara?? Might have got most of the plaudits and if I'm right moved to Celtic but hardly featured. They also had a keeper who was in the Argentina squad for the world cup whilst being registered with them!!! What a fucking mad period. Richardo Fuller was also at hearts at around the same time, what a player he was and was surprised we never went for him.
  6. They were missing 3 centre backs who would have started before Scales. If we had went into a game against them missing Goldson, Souttar, Davies and Cantwell, I would be happy to say it was an injury crisis.
  7. Auto correct. Should read 'were in the middle of a injury crisis' not we're. I mean they had a big injury crisis but still had about the same amount of transfer fees on the bench as we did. Beale isn't getting nearly enough from his players, but saying money is not a mitigating factor is just nonsense.
  8. They probably had close to the same in terms of transfer fees on the bench as well, and we're in the middle of an injury crisis. This shows the benefit the extra money can bring when you have that kind of strength in depth.
  9. This cunt for Dundee. Always thought he was really good and surprised he never ended up coming to us or them.
  10. Have to take into account a teams budget, wages and transfer fees.
  11. Its not only for things that the ref is not looking at mate. He seen the coming together, but did not see the foul until the replay, he missed that part, which is the crucial element.
  12. I called it as a foul at the time. VAR did the right thing. Ref missed the trip, which was a foul in the build up to the goal. It's the way VAR is used throughout the world. Goal was correctly chopped off. There is no real argument to be had on it anymore. It's now just the people who didn't realise that this was a foul in football trying to continue to argue so that they don't have to hold their hands up and say they were wrong.
  13. Actually thought you meant Robbie Winters for a moment there.
  14. IFAB themselves state that the rules are not supposed to cover every eventuality:- "The Laws cannot deal with every possible situation, so where there is no direct provision in the Laws, The IFAB expects the referee to make a decision within the ‘spirit’ of the game and the Laws – this often involves asking the question, “what would football want/expect?” Yes, it sounds incredibly wanky. https://www.theifab.com/laws/latest/about-the-laws/

    Starfield

I got a free copy with my latest GPU, but cant be arsed downloading it just now. I just cant take to 1 player games. This will no doubt be a million times more polished than Star Citizen (which is a buggy mess even for Alpha). It will have actual completed gameplay loops. It wont randomly lose you all your progress. It misses that absolute critical factor though, the unpredictability of other humans. Someone carelessly leaving a door open on their massive starship, only for someone to sneak on and hide behind some cargo, they wait till you are in deep space away from any crime stat zones and murder you while you pilot the ship unknown that they are there, stealing your ship and cargo. Something like that happening as part of a scripted mission against AI, versus doing it against a real person, just because it can be done is a completely different ballpark. Star Citizen is a buggy mess that I have serious doubts will ever see it get a proper release, but there are some moments that it can give you even in the current state, that are just beyond what any game from an actual AAA developer can offer.
  16. I dont mean the odds are the same. I mean obviously any team can still win the league mathematically, but the likelihood isnt great. We can win the league, so can Aberdeen, St Mirren, Motherwell etc. Our odds are better than them, but still outsiders by a long way. We will most likely finish second.
  17. Could do, in the same way Aberdeen could. Its unlikely though. I don think we have the right personnel to end up with more points than them across the city. Not enough quality options wide etc.
  18. Agreed, I would not complain in the slightest if they sack him, but I dont think its realistic. He will be given the next batch of games to try and mould the team. One more slip up in the next 5 or so domestic matches and I think it might trigger something. AS much as im pretty sure he is a dud and we will be replacing him this season, I can understand the board not wanting the club to be seen as one to not back a manager through a rough spell. It makes enticing the next manager harder.
  19. Scottish managers for the most part we know for setting their teams up defensively playing shite football and having wildly erratic seasons. The only 3 really that would be in the running due to achievements are McInnes due to finishing 2nd when we were out the league, Davidson for winning 2 cups in a fluke year and a drug smuggler. McInnes probably at an absolute push would be the one who I would be least sick in my own mouth at. English Managers for the most part are shite, hence no english club who is any good has one with the exception of maybe Newcastle. Foreign managers are therefor all thats left.
  20. I said at the time in the match thread it was exactly the same as the Morelos foul in the Dortmund game. That was the one where I learned it was a foul. So either I have actually started a conspiracy which has spawned multiple forums etc, and reaching out to Bobby Madden probably the least celtic minded ref we have. The alternative being I learned why it was a foul last time it happened, and therefor now understand why its a foul and see why the call was made. The multiple refs you are talking about, im pretty sure 2 were from Scotland (i.e. the incompetent ones from up here) and a guy who stopped reffing close to 2 decades ago.
  21. Ive probably been Beales biggest cheerleader on here...
  22. Really hope he does brilliant. It will be bitter sweet, as I would far rather he was brilliant with us, but still love the cheeky wee bastard!
  23. Ooft, dont think I could take to the soundbite guy. He would have to literally never lose a game as the moment he loses and comes out with some dodgy bullshit, it would just be posted every single fucking day from now to eternity.
  24. Moyes is a good manager, but I dont think he has the style we need. Great at taking a team with lower expectations and getting them to over achieve. Not so good at taking a team expected to challenge and get them to deliver. If it was an option between him and Beale I would swap in a heartbeat though.
