so they hired the same lawyers. We did the same thing with Duff and Phelps, and have used various lawyers who have worked for various other parts of Scottish Football in the past as well. Head out the sand here, you do realise there will only be a hand full of top lawyers who these sort of companies (footballing bodies and clubs a like) will go to? They don't have, thats the fucking point. Say they keep the prize money, on the principle that the club who won it does not exist in their eyes. They have no power then to demand we pay anything to anyone. But if we demand they pay us the prize money, then we surely must be asking them to accept we are the same club/company, and thus should be paying the old debt? Isn't that a simple train of thought here?

As a club/company that doesnt exist in the eyes of the SPL, then yeah it would be pretty daft for them to hand it over to us. We can't accept oldco winnings, if we aren't to accept oldco's debts. And agreed, the money kept most likely will not be divided up...I thought I said that already.

From you: Please read other replies to this thread to note people who are saying we should get the payment, with various "fuck the spl" attachments to their comments. As I said, it is the SPL's money to give out to the respective teams who placed in their league. Where did we place? And what are we entitled to? Second place money? In the eyes of the SPL that team/club/company (again, delete as approprate) does not exist. So what should they do with said money? Hand it over to any tom dick or harry that claims to be operating under the same 'name' as the previous SPL member? Thought not, so SPL keeps it and does what they see fit. Rightfully it should be divided up to the rest of the clubs. Time will tell if that ever does happen though.

Exactly, so why should we be asking for payments due to the oldco? If we arent going to be willing to pay the oldco's debts?
