  1. I liked him, but like one of the opening posters said; not seen him play in three years. Probably don't need him with Miller in the team; he will bang them in for fun at this level
  2. Airdie fans, "You're not Rangers any more....." Us, "Can you hear the Bankies sing" Similar one with Motherwell last year, we're were singing about Rangers (can't remember the tune) Motherwell, "You're not Rangers anymore" Us, "You only came to see the Rangers..." Even better because we were beating an SPL side who thought they could come to Ibrox and steamroller us at that time
  3. Absolutely delighted to hear this. I know some people have misgivings about Dave King, but to me the man is an accomplished businessman (better than the likes of David Murray in my eyes), and an avid supporter. Both these qualities lead me to believe he'll help run Rangers efficiently and with passion. I've read his 'issues' with relation to tax in SA - and perceive what he did to be tax limitation (like any proper business or individual tries to effect) rather than anything crude. I just hope that the SFA and those in a position of power (namely Liewell) don't have the sway to prevent this. From a selfish point of view, this guy is loaded and would gladly pump his money in to the club to see success - I know we'd ideally like the club to be run by supporters, but if we want to succeed at the top, there probably isn't the money in the Scottish system to do that....so it would be nice to have a very rich guy at the top who wants to see that too (feel free to read between the lines on that one).
  4. 1998, and I had to live with it in my Passport and Driving License til I was 28
  5. I recall, in conversations with my mates at the time, I backed Barry blindly. It proved to be the right choice, as Le Guen was sacked shortly afterwards, but it was based on gut and nothing else. At that time BF was probably our most consistent and determined player, and to be demoted as captain (I don't recall the stories of 'he'd never player for Rangers again) was ridiculous at that time. He was the one player that WAS performing (at least in terms of passion) on the pitch. It's refreshing to hear his side of the story now.
  6. If someone has sold 3.1%, they've crossed percentage barriers (eg gone from 10.1%>7% or 3.1%>0%) which require disclosure to the LSE - they are legally obliged to tell Rangers today, who are also required by the Stock Exchange to declare by COB today....unless it was lots of little buys Laxey managed to get a hold of (which I doubt).
  7. We'll find out tomorrow. 2.02m shares is about 3.1% of the company - under stock exchange rules, the buyer needs to disclose if they go above 3%, or if they hold a chunk of stock already, they need to disclose the % they now hold (as it will have breached percentage marks). Rangers are obliged to issue and RNS by COB tomorrow
  8. Didn't we expect attendances to fall anyway? They've held up good so far in comparison to the expectations at the beginning of the season. It's just an opinion, but I don't really care how we get to the top, so long as we get there. If I could will anyone to succeed, it would be Ally. Any other manager in the world will take us back to the top too. Don't see the point in changing, if the outcome will be the same.
  9. Aye, noted, but it just doesn't matter. I'd be more concerned if we were getting booed off against Celtic in the title decider in a few years time. Don't get me wrong, some of these players would be better playing elsewhere, but as long as we win successive promotions, I can live with a few crap performances. If Ally learns, great' if he doesn't; we'll have a new manager when actually matters.
  10. I'm 32, don't remember the Greig era, but don't think there's any benefit in changing the manager. By all means, let's consider it when we're in the SPL, but we're doing OK with the current set up. I know we played crap today, and I've seen us play crap a lot this season, but it just doesn't matter. What matters is winning the league, and getting back to where we belong. Ally can have a few years as manager, maybe he might learn something, and become our greatest manager ever; and maybe he won't. I for one would love possibly the greatest ever Ranger, to become our best ever manager, if not he'll be replaced when we get to the top and we'll never forget his contribution. This is the best possible training he can get; virtually no pressure and he can get to learn as he goes along. Win every game, we should at this level, but it's the big picture that's important.
  11. Probably the best alteration I've seen so far
  12. It'll be the away record for a fourth tier match, no doubt
  13. How do you know your seat - have the tickets been dispatched yet - I ordered over a week ago, and haven't seen anything
  14. "the UK government last year tightened up EBTs" Doesn't he mean the EIS schemes, which Lennon et all were using at Septic. HMRC tightened up the rules on EBTs over 5 years ago
