  1. Even if King somehow pulls a rabbit out of the hat with a managerial appointment that convinces people to renew season tickets, we will still be in serious trouble. The new manager will have the same type of transfer budget we have had over the past year or so, and the club will be relying on the ST money plus the soft loans to keep afloat. There will be no outside investment in Rangers while King is around, as he is widely seen in the business world for what he is - utterly toxic. His promises to leverage fresh income into the club have not surprisingly come to nothing. We are where we have been for the past few years - in desperate need of a major outsider or consortium to buy out a corrupt regime and provide the level of financing required to take us back where we belong. Can't see it happening any day soon though.
  2. My understanding of the statements made by King and co when they took over was that they would be investing enough to move the club forward, within limits, but would be seeking additional investment from other sources in due course, to take us to the next level. Despite their bluster, it was very clear they they did not have the required amounts to take us forward in the longer term. The additional investment has not materialised, partly, I think, due to the broader crisis in the financial markets, but partly because King is a rather toxic individual, and there will not be a queue of people waiting to get into bed with him financially. I share your daily hope about a newcomer who will buy out the King regime, but can't see who that might be, or where they might come from.
  3. It was much, much more of a shambles because we were playing at a lower level.
  4. Very difficult, I think. King has been smart enough to to cut away the normal governance arrangements in order to give him and his cronies a free hand. Unless someone comes in and makes him an offer he can't refuse, I reckon we are stuck with him.
  5. Me too. Despite that, was prepared to suspend judgement and give him the benefit of the doubt for a while, but it is very clear that no additional investment will come to the club while he is in charge, and his gross mismanagement is now creating serious problems for us. He will be desperately trying to find some rabbits to pull of of the hat before season ticket renewals come up.
  6. Absolutely. King and co managed to spin the lie that they were the only serious game in town, and, of course, they were good old "Rangers men' so that was all that mattered. Spare us from these good old boys.
  7. King's reputation and the way he conducts himself are major problems for the club. We will go nowhere while he is in charge.
  8. I'm wondering if this group of players are even capable of raising their game for a new manager.
  9. The only hope for the future of the club as a serious contender for the top honours would be if King and co are bought out by one or more people with substantial funding at their disposal. I don't see that happening, so we are stuck with King's spin and limited budgets, living from hand to mouth. No one will invest in the club while King is running the show.
  10. McKay never goes anywhere either, except for the one game every four months when he is transformed into the £6m man some people on here were raving about in January.
  11. Looking on the bright side - if we keep losing we'll drop out of the top six and won't have to play the last game against Celtic ...
  12. Nail on the head. We are going nowhere while this guy is associated with the club. Problem is - there seems to be no one else out there willing to buy him out.
  13. Does Jol have experience as a DoF? I think of him as a manager/coach.
  14. It will have to be a buy-out, I think as there's obviously no one out there who is prepared to invest in the club while King is in charge (understandably so, given his reputation). Problem is, as you say, getting someone else to take over is far from easy. That's why we ended up with King and co in the first place ...
  15. King will just be trying to spin this out in order to secure season ticket renewals. Like you, I can't see the appointment being up to the calibre we need. There's no money for that. King promised to bring in additional investment and he has failed to do that.
  16. You are right. It's very clear that Mr King is not able to attract the required additional investment, despite all his bluster. He tried, he failed. He now needs to move on.
  17. Mr King obviously struggles to get to games in Glasgow, let alone coming here to conduct interviews.
  18. Why? Are they under curfew and have to stay in Scotland? I hope you are right though.
  19. The comics don't do 'reporting'. They just make up stories.
