  1. Get him to fuck and sign Kent. He's a liability!
  2. I like him. No nonsense, straight up.
  3. I was discussing this recently with a friend who said: Eventually we will all end up back in pre Souness times and the field will be level again. The only straw we can clutch at will be nothing short of a very generous benefactor who will be willing to shell out at least 8 figures to address the current imbalance. What we are witnessing now is the "slow lingering death" of the Scottish game that Stewart Regan predicted in 2012 when we were relegated to the muck fields of the third tier. Our only consolation will be that we have had longer to rebuild our character than those in the East. Our demise was sudden. Theirs will be slow and tortuous!
  4. Indianapolis Colts here. Never been the same without Peyton Manning!
  5. Well, they qualified for this years WC.................We didn't!
  6. Yep that's him. He was sent off in his second game. He'll need to watch his temper here. These NASL refs are too whistle happy!
  7. Nah................I'm just wondering if there's a consistent bias toward a particular club in the EPL that Rangers supporters gravitate toward
  8. I've been living in the US for 8 years now and watched the rise in popularity of the game, especially in the school sports curriculum. At one time it was not taught beyond what we would call primary school. Now there are high school teams. Globalization has had a positive impact with the internet playing a major role in raising the games profile. In the recent WC there was a street watch party to watch the US team go out of their group. Thousands showed up and the city ground to a standstill as they got behind their team. There are even "soccer specific" pubs here who never show any other sport on their big screens. The state I live in recently saw the inauguration of an NASL pro team, Indy 11, start their first season with sell out crowds to every home game and a fair contingent of traveling fans who have driven up to a thousand miles round trip to get behind the team. Last year 42.000 turned out to watch Chelsea V Inter in the pre season Guinness cup tournament at a converted NFL stadium. The atmosphere was electric and the streets after the game was like any other major British city immediately after a game with chanting flag waving Chelsea fans taking over the area around the stadium. The game is definitely here to stay without doubt. My only disappointment is that there is no promotion and relegation between leagues. That may change as the sport becomes increasingly popular. Oh and by the way. Before the Indy 11 were formed there was a vote for what colours they should play in. Of course I voted Red White and Blue. The Blue is a little darker though but that's ok, at least it isn't green!
  9. As an expat bear living in the US there's an increasing interest in football over here which is great. My home state (Indiana) recently got their first pro football team this year, Indy 11, who play in the NASL which is kind of equivalent to the 1st Div although there's no promotion or relegation between leagues here which is stupid IMO. However, It's been good to sit among 10,000 loud Americans and watch the best game in the world. You can even drink beer in the stadium! Last year saw the inauguration of the Guinness cup which is really a warm up tournament but it gave the opportunity for 42.000 folk to show up at a converted NFL stadium and watch Chelsea beat Inter. It came as a shock to see the level of interest and the enthusiasm of the fans before, during and after the game. One thing I noticed is the amount of fans who wear EPL club jerseys. I did see some Celtic tops too but I won't say any more about that except to say that I informed them that they need to go to the doctor and get that scab on their back seen to. As far as I could see I was the only one with a Rangers top but I did get a few folk stop and ask how they were doing which was nice. Anyway, whose your favourite EPL team and why?
  10. It was pretty good where I was sitting. The neighbours probably think "That's that mad Scotsman screaming at his TV again"
  11. Sorry for the Necro but how could this be enforced internationally?
  12. You forgot the 6.8 Million Scots who supported whoever played England
  13. Great to be able to watch the whole game.
  14. Thats not entirely accurate. The last team Rangers played, Ottowa Fury, is a NASL professional team. Ottowa beat our local team, Indy 11, at home recently so it was especially sweet for me to see my first team beat them on their home ground. I moved over here from Glasgow 8 years ago and it's been great to see the popularity of football growing. Last year we went to see Chelsea V Inter at the local NFL stadium and I was pleasantly surprised to be sitting with 42,000 American Chelsea supporters. The atmosphere on the streets after the game was electric. Our new team here ( http://www.indyeleven.com/home ) in Indiana has had sellout attendances in excess of 10,000 at every home game and the whole city went wild over the recent world cup campaign with big screen street parties and pubs bursting to the seams. Theres also a Rangers soccer school permanently based here http://www.rangerspfc.com/default.aspx Guess who their heros are? So don't knock Rangers evangelistic efforts. No one here thought any less of our team for giving young players a chance to share the field with Scotlands finest football team. Everyone here knew of the difficulties Rangers has faced in recent years and they were honoured to be graced with the presence of the Bears. Rangers has made a huge impression here and the brand is not damaged in any way. Oh and on a closing note, we had Beasley visit our stadium last Saturday after his World cup tour with the USA. The whole place went mental screaming his name. It was a heart stopping moment for me when he looked up into the stand where I was wearing my Rangers top in his honour. As he waved I remembered his words when he was intervied when he returned to Murray park for a training session " I will always be a Rangers fan, always be a Rangers man"
