Although it didn't feel like it last night, we've been in far worse states than this many times since 1968. Change is coming, we need to get this appointment right. But it's not just about getting in a manager, it's the management team as a whole that needs to be right. Too many manager's are unaware of their weaknesses and surround themselves with assistants that are basically yes men. Looking from a far, i couldn't see anyone in the Beale set-up that had fire in the belly or was an "arse-kicker". What we need is both technical awareness and strength of character, difficult to get in one person but easier to find as part of a management team. A Souness/Smith, or even a Gerrard/Mcallister/Beale showed how different characters can complement each other. If we going to go down the foreign managers route again then they need someone in their team that know the club and Scottish football inside out. Over to the board ...

Tav's not the player he was. I was a fan of his but he's nowhere near the level he once was. Do we continue to play him because of what he has done in the past? We can certainly forget about playing narrow and using the full backs for width, he doesn't have the legs for it anymore. He's still score penalties, the occasional free kick and might get a few from open play, but is that enough to justify his selection when his overall play is poor?

If a player comes on as a sub and plays well it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be just as good starting a game. The game can be very different in the last 20 minutes compared to the first 20. It happened with Scott Wright, he come on as a sub, look decent, get a start next game and be rotten.

I'd of played him yesterday and brought Matondo on for him during the second half.

What's happened to him? He's played well against PSV at Ibrox putting in a huge amount of running and showing the strength and athleticism to play at that level. He also scored our 1st goal with a fine finish. He did look pissed off when he was subbed. But he's hardly played since. Has he had a fall out with Beale? Something is going on.

We really need a camera angle from behind the players to know for sure. It looks like Dessers foot is not placed directly in front of their players, which would be a foul. It's to his side and in the natural position you'd expect it to be in running beside soneone. The reason he kicks Dessers as he swings his leg outwards into Dessers path. So he is impeding Dessers not the other way around.

What rule is that?

Their defender actually comes across Dessers path with his foot as he knows he's close to losing possession and in desperation is trying to make a turn that's never going to work.

He actually put his leg outwards, look at the position of his foot. The picture posted by Madden is misleading, in the video it's clear.

Injuries and age have caught up with him. He can still play a defensive midfielder role against weaker opposition, but was completely unsuited for his role today.

It was a brilliant touch to take the ball around the keeper. Then the touch like a donkey of his shin for the shot.

I think Beale has to drop Tav. He's not been good enough and he's supposedly the captain. I'm not sure Beale is brave enough to do it.
