  1. Earlier in the season we created next to nothing; just constant awful crosses to no one from deep. Last night we played with almost non stop urgency. Always looked to play forward. Created chances across the team - we could have had 6 or 7 different scorers. Yes, the finishing was disappointing at times but we also hit the woodwork multiple times and the keeper came on to a great game second half. Individual players are also improved - in particular, Cantwell looked back to the guy that finished last season. Midfield looks really strong now, with lots of options. Shame we don’t have another striker. Anyone know what the story is with Roofe?
  2. That’s fucking unbelievable. Miss the play off, seeded for the next round and maybe some cash for a new player in January. Brilliant.
  3. Might be a player there. Got a good few tackles and blocks in. Worked hard. Decent on the ball. Looked more balanced in the middle after he came on.
  4. Think that’s the best I’ve seen Dessers play. Actually won the ball, held it up. Important shift.
  5. They are utterly deluded. Jeanette Findlay was on radio Scotland this morning while I was driving to work. Apparently celtic fans have an infinity with oppressed people around the world because of their background and shared experiences. It’s all healthy support for the oppressed. The board should just let the fans express this solidarity and pay any fines that come along. They should fight Uefa. It’s no different to showing support for Ukraine etc. Of course the questions were softball shite, giving her an opportunity to preach this nonsense. The question that should have been asked is why - if it’s all about solidarity in the face of Israeli genocide (her words) - ǝpɐbıɹq uǝǝɹb ǝɥʇ first did their flag show immediately after the Hamas attack and before the Israeli response in Gaza had even stated in earnest. Was it not really about celebrating the Hamas attack (which is consistent with support shown to other terrorists)? Does she condone the Hamas attack? Does a substantial section of the celtic support just have a problem with Jews?
  6. You can see the confidence he gives to the team. Does all the simple stuff well and pulls off big saves. Brilliant bit of business.
  7. Fucking weirdo. Why was he grabbing his balls in celebration of them scoring? Totally unsuited to his position and should be gone by now. Can’t believe they are taking his side over the players who just won the World Cup - it’s actually mental.
  8. I think we’ll do them again over there. For all the silky passing and possession they created very little in the way of clear cut chances. We’ll score over there. They may also be missing more defenders to injury. Need to frustrate the hell out of them, probably ride our luck at times, and take the chances that will come. And not play Sima, because brilliant strike aside he was poor.
  9. Could have absolutely murdered them today. King, Lundstrum, Sands, Sakala all great. Kent has been decent as well. Much better application, effort, will to recover the ball and get forward. More of this.
  10. I was in the more optimistic camp before last night. We’re being hampered by injuries that will soon come over their way, these results can happen etc. I expected a reaction last night - to see players who looked hurt and determined to make amends. Instead we got that - players barely moving, Ajax passing through us like traffic cones. I couldn’t believe how bad we were, again. The players attitude and managers reaction says something isn’t right. Can’t see this ending well now.
  11. Okay, they are great on the ball and their movement is fantastic but surely we can get closer to them than this. It’s all so comfortable - not sure what we’re trying to do without the ball.
  12. Fair play to the folk predicting that kind of result before the game - I never saw it coming at all. Great effort from the team. Need to stop giving the ball to the opposition in our own half though.
  13. So disappointing. Not the time to be slagging players or second guessing the manager. Thought they all emptied themselves. Combination of games, heat, the lack of a natural match fit striker all had an impact I think. Still took it to pens. Probably won’t see that again. But I said that after 2008 so we’ll see what happens. I was convinced we were winning that. Totally different last time. This is worse.
  14. Unfortunately it doesn’t take many behaving badly for it to look really bad on TV, especially if the police pile in. People don’t believe me when I say I saw very little real trouble in Manchester. They think it was a war zone because of the tv reports. I was at Albert Square and saw no trouble at all. The queues to get in from Blackpool we’re awful but it was really good natured. Lots of people pissing everywhere which was unnecessary and the inevitable mess of thousands of people in a small area, but it’s was hardly WWIII. Can’t see us getting through a full day of people drinking in the sun without some daftness. Hoping the ned element don’t travel and others keep in mind everyone else is desperate to see a riot. Hope everyone stays safe and has an amazing trip.
