  1. The biggest beneficiaries were I think Pollok FC - there were also some who couldn’t bear following another team I guess when their beloved club was lost
  2. I suspect green and white was painted by the guy running the Jimmy Johnstone academy though can’t be proved who play some games there. He has no respect for the history of Third Lanark and if he had his way would probably have the whole park painted green and white, he complained to the council that the barriers were red (Third Lanark colours)
  3. Hi Gers fans You maybe interested to know that there is a full length Third Lanark documentary on BBC alba at 9pm tomorrow night charting the history of the club from its foundation in 1872 - lots of rare archive footage in the documentary and interviews On another note their is a reformed Thirds founded in 2007 complete with several youth teams 5 year old to 14 year old and the coaches have been invited by Rangers as guests to come in and view training sessions of the Rangers youth teams to help enhance the training and set up of the Third Lanark youth academy teams which is a lovely gesture from the Gers and one appreciated by the Thirds Academy coaches
  4. Sorry but partick thistle and Hamilton accies were in the first Divison in 2012 so we're not involved in any premier league vote. It was Motherwell who were in the premier league
  5. Selling in ebay, Lots of interesting features of the Souness revolution at Rangers in 1986 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112021303309?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

  7. Great to read so many fantastic posts about the HiHi here. As has been mentioned a reformed Amateur team play - at present sitting top of the division they play in the West of Scotland league. Several youth teams are to be launched - under 5s, under 7's, under 10's and under 11's which will start playing at begining of 2016 when the respective leagues for the youth teams start. All will play under the proud Third Lanark name and its important that the proud name attracts a young generation rather than just being famous to older football fans. As for Cathkin park a number of plans are being worked on to get a lease for the ground, hopefully at some point (2017 would be 50th year of Thirds last senior game) a Third Lanark team playing in the Junior leagues with a youth football academy based there. Here is the website with links to their Third Lanark twitter and facebook pages http://www.third-lanark.com/thirds.html Please feel free to pass onto anyone who may be interested as well. Again fantastic to read Gers fans great memories of the HiHi
  8. Well aside from Third Lanark lol I must admit I like to see Queens Park FC, Partick Thistle FC and Clydebank FC all doing well. The spiders and the Jags I hope will get promoted. Keep an eye out for the Bankies scores in the Juniors - The senior Clydebank FC helped produce one of the greatest Rangers and Scottish Football players ever the legendary Davie Cooper.
  9. Thanks for all the positive comments guys, much appreciated and hope to see some of you guys along tomorrow night. Thanks again
