I struggle to keep up with what some nutter decides one day that this word or the other wasn’t offensive yesterday but, from now on, it is.
When I started going regularly to Ibrox (around 71/72), there were seven of us (5 tims, 2 bluenoses) who walked Haggs Road together, split up at Ibrox House pub (where the petrol station is now), met there after the game and walked back home together.
I can tell you very little of the language we used would be considered acceptable today but none of us ever collapsed, traumatised at being called a soap dodgers cunt or an orange bastard.
People’s idea of “offensive” today is a fucking joke.

The biggest single episode of racism in Scottish sport, took place on Jan 2nd 1988. It was at the home of the bastions of morality and FairPlay, celtic Fc. There has never been anything close to matching it yet it is rarely mentioned when this topic is discussed. Prior to that in the 70s , racism was rife on popular TV programms etc. I don’t mention the Mark Walters incident purely to score points or engage in Whataboutery,  it just to highlight how common it was back in the day. Nowadays this type of incident would never be allowed, which shows how differently racism is treated today. Therefore old Shug was talking shite. As a man who’s now in his 70s I would say that the behaviour of fans back in the day was much worse than it is now, but on the other hand I think the hatred between the supporters is much worse. I am totally against all forms of discrimination including racism, but I also feel that Rangers are seen as an easy target too often. Until all the clubs accept ownership and responsibility for the actions of their fans. I don’t think it will improve any time soon. 

Even though I didn’t travel to Dingwall last Sunday as the senior committee member I thought I had to make a statement about the unsavoury video that was filmed on our supporters bus and put on social media. What was on that video is totally unacceptable and everyone that was involved have been handed lifetime bans and will not be allowed to travel on the bus again. Our club was founded in 1966 and I personally have been involved with it for over 40yrs and have always prided ourselves for being a family club and have a large membership of all ages  and I can assure you that the views and actions of the lads in the video are not those of myself or the members of WRSC. We have accepted the decision R.F.C and will work with them going forward and reiterate to everyone there is no place for this behaviour not just in football but in Society as a whole, although I can’t condone the vile abuse one of our female members and a young boy received after their phone number was accidentally posted online 
On a personal note I’d like to thank all the people who know me and the good members of my club for their kind words of support it’s very much appreciated

Now we are on the subject,our club have to make sure the team bus arriving at the piggery has full access to drive round to where that clubs players got on a bus,for their own protection from mutant fenians.

The problem I have is the story has been magnified and given a platform far higher than the content of the story gives it credit for.
This is getting the same type of attention that would happen in another country, if it was the actual sports team on their team coach doing the eye thing.
Its a bunch of drunk cunts on a bus being mild/moderately racist and its headline news across the country.
Would this have hit the papers if the people that were filming themselves doing this were on their way to a stag do on a hired mini-bus rather than on a rangers bus heading to a game? Of course not. It would not even make the papers. The only news is that it is to do with football and us in particular.
The racism is not the issue here, the issue here is the constant need for one side or the other of the old firm to be getting a showing up and point scoring over the other.
Its genuinely fucking pathetic.

The difference between banter and racism is a constantly moving goalpost.
I doubt you can say anything about anyone that couldn't be construed as offensive to someone - especially if they are trying to point score.  I think we all have a right to be offensive (to a degree) but not right to discriminate - there is a world of difference.  People try to muddy the waters when you are being offensive to someone of a different race.  It's ok for one of them to call Forrest the No Neck Monster but not ok to mention the appearance of another player's eyes.
It's a minefield.

The club actually told me they support my efforts as by paying for a ST plus giving them my seat for secondary ticketing I am arguably gaining the club more money than anyone

Been saying this since season restarted. No idea what is going on with a fair few of them, but they better get this complacent nonsense right out the window and back into that winning mentality.
