  1. Jesus christ. That just smacks of "fickle". The man has a wee barron spell and boom, some people just can't wait to get on his back. Lets just ignore the fact he had zero supply in to the box today and the entire team played terribly.
  2. EH? Lay off the drink. Shagger by far. I hope that is a joke, or you are 13 and can't remember Klos.....
  3. Difficult question to answer, as it's not very fair on the first two players who were here, in essence when talking about Ball, for only around a season compared to Papac who is in his 3rd? 4th? Anyway, to give a definitive answer it would be Papac. Do I think hes the best player out of the 3? No. Ball, before his injury, absolutely pished all over Papac and Vignal. I was really excited about Michael. If he had kept fit, we would have got about 2 seasons out of him before one of the big 4 snapped him up, of that I have no doubt. Vignal, never really rated him. He was a half decent player who came in at a time when we were really poor. Scored the winning penalty against Maritimo iirc, that was about his highlight.
  4. you stated a story MAY BREAK well it has so thanks, looks like a mate of a mate is not always an unreliable source.hope the ones who jumped on this guy are big enough to apologise. I do owe an apologie to the OP very sorry to take the piss.. but as another poster said we see & here this time after time but u got it rite... so my apologies. I hope you weren't the one that slagged his spelling too...
  5. For all those saying they can't see it happening, be a bit more optimistic. This story was released on another forum, followfollow, by a poster well known over there for getting these stories right. And because it has came from him, I am veryy optimistic.
  6. I have no "insider" source, I haven't talked to a reserve/coach in Asda. Just got a text off a mate who is a big Rangers man, saying Boyd is to have a medical with Hertha Berlin tomorrow. I don't know if he has contacts but to be fair to him he knew about Buffel and Mendes coming here a good day or so before anything was mentioned anywhere (and I was too bloody cautious to mention it on here ) Let me stress that this is unconfirmed at present and can't back this up with a major source, but in case it were to happen I thought I'd share the news I've just been given. I've recenty posted this on FollowFollow too and a few have replied saying they've been told the same. Hope this isn't true but that guy that txts me this is 2 out of 2 so far.
  7. We were taught a lesson? Not quite in my opinion. I'm just heading back from the emirates as i write this, but i walk away happy. Okay the first half we were very poor. We were immediately shocked with the early goal and simply didn't recover after that - first half was a write off. Second half however we were the better team. The amount of times we sliced open their defence with a combination of great vision, technique and passing was... unexpected to say the least. On another day that would easily have finished a score draw. Arsenal probably did drop down a gear but some of the play we reduced was fantastic and very encouraging. 3-0 complimented them and the fans i was sitting amongst (i was in the arsenal end) were saying just that come the end of the game. Domestically we won't be up against fabregas and arshavin so doubt the defencive errors made today will occur so often. If we add finishing to the performance today then we will be on title 53 by the end of this season. Also, mendes was, in my opinion, very poor today.
  8. My team would be: McGregor Whittaker Bougherra Broadfoot Papac Davis Fleck Mendes Aaron Novo Boyd Give Weir a rest but not for fecking Webster! That would be madness. Drop Ferguson and switch to a Midfeild 3 with Fleck playing a more advanced role. Supported by Aaron and Novo, both nippy and quick with Boyd up top to finish things off. Would love to see it, won't happen though
  9. I don't hold out much hope for wee Dean. Was talking to a few city fans last week and this is the general chat about him: "Bags of energy and drive. Totally commited and chases every ball. Maybe needs to calm that down as it shows his inexperience and he fades near the end of games. His vision is great but doesn't have the passes to go with it. Its frustrating because, you know what he is trying to do, and some of it is genius, but he'll maybe pull it off about 20% of the time. Right now I can't decide if he should keep his place, or maybe give it back to Bully (Lee Bullock, their number 8)." Ok so sounds like any other promising young player. But you have to remember he is getting in to his 20s now. It sounded to me like the City fans were not bothered if he kept his place or not, which is worrying when you consider that he is playing in League 2, and hardly setting the place alight with his performances. I suppose time will tell, but he sounds like a mix between Charlie Adam and Kenny Miller. Not what we need IMO.
  10. Jesus. Hmmm lets see... Weir, proven to be safe. Not exactly the best any more but makes little error and can only be criticised for his lack of pace. Webster? An absolute disaster who is constantly injured and couldn't get a game for Bristol fecking City! To those who voted for Webster - pleassse come out of hiding and admit that you were either taking the piss, or are on some serious drugs. Thank you.
  11. Indeed he did. However, otherwise the fella's right. Pete's reply was complete garbage. Stop crying because I disagreed with you. Ok ok our players are crap and of the standard of Stoke. Afterall none of the players we have by your reckoning are worth over £3m? Can't wait to see one of the bottom EPL sides hammer Lyon, Stuttgart, Werder and reach the UEFACF this season. I almost predict you will dismiss this as "the past" in your reply, even though your original post included the past in it
  12. This Thread is a bit silly really, lets put things in to perspective here. There are a lot of points I don't agree with in the op's statment and I will go through them, with a bit of common sense. OP: Why did Portsmouth let him go for so cheap if he was that good? Well, they are pretty skint. If you know anything about them, you will know that their policy at the latter stages of the summer was "can't bring one in till one goes". As mentioned, the Bank was a big influence and 'Arry spoke a few times about how he was reluctant over this transfer. Also, have a look at the Portsmouth FootyMad forum and search for Mendes. You will see plenty of tributes, people sad to see him leave and "god" was mentioned a few times. EPL fans are generally difficult to please but they were delighted with the servince Mendes had given. Overall its a plain as it looks - we got a £8-9m player for a bargain. Are you saying you know better than Portugal? Afterall, they've just given him a call-up.... OP: Davis - not in Fulhams plans but brilliant up here. Yawn. "If he canny get a game there then he canny be good enough for us" is rubbish IMO. A lot of gems have been uncovered or brought back to form after a dry spell at another club. Many Villa fans could not believe when Davis, EPL Young player of the year and Club Young player of the year was allowed to leave for Fulham (O'Neill letting go a Protestant Rangers fan from N.I for no reason??) His international record has been great also, so yes I would value him at £6m and believe that if he had went to maybe a club like Spurs or stayed at Villa, he wouldn't be here right now (we wouldn't have a hope at getting him). As for Laudrup.... this less said about that the better. A sensational footballer and I can't believe you weren't laughed off the board for that comment. OP: Cousin going for only £2m and not 10. The guy is 30 and had a history of a bad attitude. We may have got a bit more for him but we were desperate to get rid of him?? Also, you choose to ignore Hutton going for £9m and being a success down there. Once again if reffer you to Spurs FootyMad Forum if you don't believe me. During pre-season there were many discussions on their starting XI for the new season, and every Spurs fan seen Hutton as an integral part of the team. Cuellar also went for a sizeable amount - remember? IMO some people will just always have something to be negative about - but I think you are wayy off the mark here my friend.
  13. With you on this. Don't see the need to throw this generally unproven youngster into a game like this ffs. Let him get settled and debut next week. However, I wouldn't mind seeing young Aaron get a chance.
  14. No way do arsenal and chelsea have a bigger fan base. "oh but they win lots" is the usual pish thats spouted. Arsenal can hardly compete with Nawcastle.... ...and Chelsea?? What they added an extra 600,000 fans in half a decade because they can buy Kaka now have they?
