Rangers scouting network (or lack of) is highly criticised amongst many sections of our fans. The setting up and ongoing running of a scouting network that will be able to identify players which can enhance our squad and be sold on at a substantial profit will be difficult and expensive to properly administer. However, many teams like Arsenal and Chelsea already have this infrastructure in place and will scout hundreds of players from across the globe on an annual basis. My suggestion would therefore be to piggy back onto one of these networks. The benefit to a club such as Arsenal would be as follows: 95%+ of the players scouted will not even be offered a trial but may be more suited to play in the Scottish game. By sending on details of the player they will not be referring to a direct rival and for any players that are subsequently signed we could pay a finders fee. There could potentially be sell-on percentage clauses or first refusal clauses to make the proposal more attractive for them. This in the first instance would help to expand our reach when searching for players out with a highly competitive British market which is something which has been lacking for a long while.
