Lammers and Dessers I don’t understand but Cifuentes was clearly signed off the back of looking good in the MLS. The only problem with that is 37yr old Billy Sharp has gone to the MLS and looks like a world beater as well.

Finishing 2nd in the Europa group wouldn’t bother me at all. Obviously I want us to top the group but I don’t see it having any impact on his future if we don’t as long as we go through. He’ll be judged on domestic form. Fall any further behind that mob before we play them again and he’s gone. Fail to win the League Cup which we’ve basically got a free hit at and he’s gone.

Probably just the pay off. He’s not going to walk away for nothing and it’s naive to think he would.

Or just don’t sign him when we know he’s injury prone. That would work as well. He record at Leeds wasn’t as bad as some would have you believe but Anderlecht only managed to get 3 months out of him because he was injured that much and we still decided to pay a decent fee for him. Brilliant striker when fit but he’s made of biscuits and it’s been a bit of a disaster of a signing if we’re honest.
