I don’t buy it mate. Can’t see an individual self-sabotaging any hopes of furthering their career, wherever that may be after this. It was incompetence more than anything.
You think Murty told the players to stand off and play with no passion whatsoever? One thing is to get the tactics all wrong, but the application is all down to the players themselves.
Hypocrisy aside, do you really expect a captain to condemn his teammate for diving? Even if the whole world sees it, it just doesn’t happen in football. Especially if the penalty is awarded.
I’d be more inclined to believe most of them have become complacent actually. They’re overpaid and when it comes down to it, they don’t give it their all because they ultimately don’t care as long as they get paid. It seems to be that a loss just doesn’t bother most of them as much as it should.
If it happened there must be a link somewhere. You must have seen or heard it somewhere after all. Until I see it, i maintain it’s hearsay and didn’t happen.
