That statement applies to both Dessers and Roofe, who sadly i think is done. -

So they should too, but coming out of Dundee's pockets i hope. -
This is it, with the overhauls we're having to do every other season at the moment, the turnover is much higher than it should be, and thus the hit ratio in signings needs to be spot on. The only successes we've had from the summer have been Butland, Sterling and Sima. We need a much higher hit rate with signings going forward. If we can get circa £10m for Butland and something for Lammers (not expecting any more than a couple £m for him) and free up a fair chunk on outgoing wages, it should allow us to assemble a much younger but hungrier squad. If we're shopping im the South American market the mentality should be right.

Keeping them brings the same result

We're unfortunately in the position that the players who are more prone to switching off / making individual errors are the senior members of the squad, so they won't be dropped due to their standing within the squad and the influence they have. The only solution is to get rid during the summer. Lundstram and Borna are out of contract, so would let them go. I'd keep Tav but would be looking for suitors for Goldson and I would take whatever for him, and if the Saudi money for Tav is true then obviously he goes with my best wishes. -
We shouldn't have missed Diomande either. If someone comes in against Ross County, you would fully expect them to be able to cope against the team 2nd bottom of the league. If they can't, (which Dowell couldn't), then they aren't good enough for us. The fact that Dhanda played through our midfield tells the story.

We wont be able to generate much income either barring getting good money for Butland and anything for Lammers / Dessers. There's jist the hope that any cheap / out of contracts we bring in we can resell next year for a decent amount. Our summer recruitment Butland and Sima apart was awful.

It does look like a huge turnover again this season, and that we will need to shop smart in the out of contract market. We cannot be going into next season with the bulk of the squad we have now.
-
God, i forgot Davies was still here. He's barely kicked a ball all season. I think that's a reasonable list and the players in it would free up a huge amount of money in terms of wages, although if Sima was available for a decent fee i would be all over that. You could add Dowell to that list too as well as Borna.

Ach its probably just the fact they have the points on the board atm and we still have two games to play. It's part of a proper title race and nerves kick in a little. It's brilliant to be in a proper one again, and if we win the next two games and go back infront then the nerves will ease for most. The first half today proved that they struggle the longer the game stays level, and there's a high chance that we both drop points between now and the end of the season. The last Old Firm of the season looks to be shaping up to be a cracker.

Tav switched off at the goal, but i was meaning that he was probably the only one of their players who was going to force Tav into the error, he just runs at players.
-
That summarises him pretty well tbh. Awful footballer but he is important in triggering their press and the quick tempo they like to play at times. As i said earlier, if he didnt play the last old firm game, nobody else gets that opening goal for them due to him just running around like a nutter.
-
He creates a tempo for them by his near constant running and harassing of players. They don't get that first goal last week if he doesn't play. While not being a great player, as you say, they lose intensity without him and that can only bode well for us.

Yeah last night i was still of the opinion that the game should still take place at Dens, but now i think the option should be removed from them and a suitable alternative venue should be chosen, maybe a public park somewhere in Dundee as they seem to have avoided climate change 🤣 -

Incredible that climate change in Dundee is only having an impact on one football ground when there's ome across the road that's playable, and apparently many public pitches are fine too 🤣 -

They had the opportunity to help us in the Walter Smith Europa Cup final run and they refused to do so. Double standards again from our supposed professional league system.
