  1. We're so static. It's some finish but our shape and movement at the back / midfield is honking. No closing down, it's criminal.
  2. Christmas / new year time i did say we should keep Arfield as he pops up with a goal when played. However, he can only do that if he gets on the field, which he hasn't done recently. To me that indicates he will be (and should be) one of the ones leaving once his contract is up, which I will be sad to see, but we definitely need to free up wages if players aren't getting a look in.
  3. He'll probably do alright at Forest as well. Zero expectation on winning trophies and they won't be that bothered if he only turns up every other game. It's probably his level.
  4. Jack is frustrating. He's good enough to be part of the squad when fit, but you're right there. He'll probably have to prioritise club over international football. His body is telling him he can't manage both.
  5. Didn't we weirdly make money on Bacuna? Terrible on the field but if we made money then it strangely can't be classed as a 'bad' signing.
  6. The only point i disagree with you on is regarding Tav. I think he is still good enough, and still contributes. What would help would be a centre half with a bit of intellegence who would cover his side as he bombs forward, as at the moment there's no cover in behind at all. I would gut the rest of the back 4 though as they aren't good enough mentality wise, and we lack pace at the back. Also agree reg. Goldson.
  7. That squad needs trimmed down considerably. I would say we should probably have around 20 (fully fit) first team players and any gaps in the squad filled with younger players. There are a fair few of that squad who will be on high wages and with a low potential transfer yield, which is poor from us. We need a huge cull. Goalkeeper is a must, hopefully Devine can step up and be competition / deputise for Tav. Yilmaz needs an extended run in the team, and a capable deputy brought in. CD needs refreshed, an extra CM with drive and forward thinking, both a left sided and right sided inside forward (if Kent leaves), and a new striker if Alfie leaves.
  8. At this point in time i'm fairly happy that Wilson has moved on. Time will decide if he has been a success or failure. I think some of the signings have been horrendously unlucky regarding injuries (Ofoborh, Yilmaz, Lawrence, Hagi, Soutter to a point as we knew his injury history). There have been gambles regarding signings that haven't paid off, and there have been some outright awful signings. I completely forgot that Kamberi played for us. The number of players who haven't worked out is a worry, and shows a lack of understanding of what is expected at a club like Rangers. You're never going to get every signing right, but at least identify a character or a trait in a player that will fit with the club's ethos. At this time i would be quite happy for the management team to identify players who would slot into their philosophy.
  9. That's the perfect word to describe how the SFA treat us as a club. They dismiss us out of hand, and we appear to take it. I've no idea if we are more forceful behind the scenes or not, but look where trying to act with dignity has got us. Scottish football's bogeyman and bitch.
  10. Rinse and repeat. We couldn't even muster a legal challenge when we were wrongly demoted down the leagues (that may have had something to do with the charlatans running us at the time), but we continue to show weakness and bridge building, even when we are clearly being done up like a kipper. Same with the Hibs cup final. Hibs fans clearly instigating violence on the pitch, and somehow we come off worse. We don't follow through with our statements. Same with the whole 'missing vote' from Dundee. Again, fuck all done about it. We've let this mob from the east end get their claws into the upper echelons of our game. A celtic fan refereeing an old firm game. Ridiculous. That's where we are, and our inaction as a club has brought us here, and we are getting treated exactly as our inaction has dictated we would. Change needs to happen both in the SFA and in our club. Shambles.
  11. The amount of trophies they've been allowed to win since 2012 is disgusting. There's no way they would have won as many if we hadn't been sent down the divisions. For all intents and purposes Scottish football willfully crippled us and gave them free access to trophies and the Champions League for the best part of 10 years. Then they wonder why it's in the state it is.
  12. That's how i read it too. Deflection and blaming the big bad Rangers fans again.
  13. Just been reading the article on the bbc site and these two lines leapt out. "The SFA said a "significant volume of threatening and abusive emails" had been referred to Police Scotland, but the force said it had not received the correspondence." "As a result, officers have yet to launch a formal investigation". If this is true, that is scandalous from the SFA and is a clear case of deflection and yet again an unfair denigration of our support.
  14. They have such an inflated opinion of themselves.
  15. Most likely 5th if they don't stop the rot (think Hibs are too inconsistent), but how good a season will St Mirren have had if they finish 3rd or 4th btw. Really good going by Stephen Robinson.
  16. He isn't a bad player, and i wouldn't expect we would be bringing him in to be our first choice striker. We need options, the guy has scored a lot of goals in Scotland, knows the league etc. If it's a cheap enough deal (under £1m) then we could do a lot worse. Obviously isn't the level required as a starter, but as a good squad player.
  17. I dont think anyone is going to genuinely mean they don't want us in the Champions League, but if we are there, we need to be able to compete and not face the hammerings we have experienced this season. If the figures add up and a deep run in the Europa League gets us similar or better finances to that of being hammered every game in the champions league, then Europa League is where i would prefer us to be at this stage.
  18. Jack is usually quite solid but played his part in two of their goals. Letting O'Riley run off him like that, and the pass back to Souttar was heavy and unnecessary (Souttar still at fault too). I think players are cautious about getting too tight to Furuhashi as he goes down too easily, but no excuse for letting him ghost into position time and again. Tav is excellent when we play to his strengths in playing the attacking role, and proved his worth again today.
  19. It would depend on how much we're spending on Tillman for me. £6m, we shouldn't be spending that at this stage of his career as he does go missing in the old firm games. For that money we need proper big game players. Raskin is showing there is good value out there.
  20. McGregor isn't good enough now, and should retire at the end of the season but escapes a little bit of the flack for me because we should have had another 1st pick keeper in this season, and that isn't his fault.
  21. How many times has he said the word champions so far? Seems to mention it every 3rd word. Strangely, he couldn't find the word when we were champions.
  22. He's done brilliantly to bring us back into it, but it does highlight our deficiencies elsewhere
