I would / do back them on their campaign to have 'safe standing' installed in the stadium. I didn't realise it would only cost £150k if that is a correct figure. If it is the money that is an issue then I think they should lead a fund raising campaign to get the money to install it - I don't think it would take that long to raise. I seen something about this on FB recently and their supporters were slamming the ST holders who piped up, and the general consensus was that the seats are effectively 'rented' from the club so you have no entitlement to demand to keep your seat. That works both ways for me, it is of course correct, however it also means the UBs have no right to demand where they sit either. What I think they do totally wrong - almost every time they do protest (which is getting more often) is pick their times to do it. The other night is a good example and arguably (armed with hindsight) was our most important game of the season. Why do it during that? They claim (quite rightly) to be the group that is bringing an atmosphere back to Ibrox, and I applaud that, but do it away from the games, or before a game, or after a game, not during it. The way they are going about their protests is fucking people off and losing them support, but I'm certain if they boxed clever they would gain support, funds and momentum in their spat with the club. Unfortunately they do come across as huffy and childish at times. Just saying !!!!!

But that won't happen. The release cause will (should) always be [relatively speaking] silly money. If the player signs up to it when negotiating a new contract, then really no-one can lose. However, if it is not done properly, then its a mistake by the club, but that's a different discussion. You're saying no one wins, I disagree, caveated with 'if it is done properly' - of course there are / can be benefits.

In this particular case, I disagree - if the amount is above what you think you will get, then you will make more money. For example, if the club / market put a player at lets say worth £10m, which is what everyone would expect to get for the player, however the early release clause agreed by the club and the player is £20m, that its either that amount or he stays, then the player either stays or the club makes more money than they would have if there wasn't a release clause.

Obviously it is a matter of opinion, and although I hope he stays at least another year, it is my opinion he will be off in the summer. If the release clause is set very high, agreed by both the club and Alfredo, then that should be the amount we dictate. Will be higher than we would expect if he hadn't signed a new extension. It is one of the ways these contracts work nowadays.

Possibly, but more time for training than they have now, fitter, especially the linesmen who struggle to keep up a lot of the time, and prob more importantly it may attract a better standard of ref to the system as a career.
