  1. I can't speak to his attitude but Wallace is 100% injured. I know for a fact he was in Ross Hall on Tuesday.
  2. If this is the route we're going to go down then this is excellent news. We need the DoF and manager in place as soon as possible so preparations can be made for next season and Europe. Fuck this giving a youth coach til the end of the season nonsense. The non-bams amongst us realise the situation, what needs to be done and how we can't afford to wait until then. I've drawn a line under this season already; just make sure we make Europe and anything in the cup is a bonus. What is absolutely key and an absolute priority is sorting out the behind-the-scenes shite so we're ideally placed to kick on come June.
  3. My brother's been in the Paedodome for a wedding before. They have a big banqueting hall in the Celtic end but there's a large lounge area with bars for folk to mill about in before they go get fed. "Top level" according to him even though he's the type of cunt who would try and take a magic marker in to leave Torbett menchies in the bogs. On the other hand, at the start of this season at Ibrox, the modesty boards between urinals were still needing repaired from last season and the fridges weren't working. That's the difference.
  4. The fact that the board released a statement is actually in their favour as surely - surely to fuck - they wouldn't do anything as definitive as that without consulting whomever we have on legal retainer that deals with our contract negotiations. Surely they wouldn't do anything as rash as that without being in the clear legally. What I'm saying is that should shit hit the fan over this, people absolutely need to be sacked as it's so completely and utterly fundamental that making an arse of it should be out of the question.
  5. From an employment lawyer posting on "another Rangers messageboard". Take from that what you will.
  6. If the board have fucked this in any way those involved need to go. The notion that people employed by a company whose bread-and-butter is ostensibly contract renewal and negotiation - something we do on an almost constant basis - could play fast and loose with this sort of thing and not have everything signed, dated and handed over in triplicate before they do anything or open their mouths about it, would absolutely be cause for whoever was involved being dragged out into the street.
  7. If it's just for six months what is the fucking point? Seriously. What is there to get excited about? The best case scenario - one where he comes in, strolls it, holds down a first team place and looks like an absolute superstar - is also the worst case scenario as it leaves a giant, gaping hole to be filled at the end of the season (in time for the Europa qualifiers, remember) once he inevitably fucks off back down south. It has to be for 18 months or no deal. Absolutely has to.
  8. It's all a load of shite, a distraction. We're spending fuck all in the much vaunted "this is when ye'll see the money" January window and cunts the past week were getting restless. So what do you do if you're one of our enterprising board members? You get your PR chums to get their journo pals to spraff some pish about one of our better players moving for an impressive sum and BOOM - every cunt gets excited about the windfall and it buys you three days until the fitba starts back the morra.
  9. The bheasts put themselves into a holding pattern while we were away, that much is true but this: ...is already their corporate strategy and has been for the past six or years or so. Every year where they failed to make the CL group stages, they covered the loss to break even or make a profit by selling an asset they brought in for buttons (van Dijk, Wanyama etc.). The point here is we aren't outmanoeuvring them by adopting this strategy and it isn't "our method"; it's basically the only way you can run a large club in Scotland these days and those cunts have a head start in implementing it. The problem we have is that for this approach to be effective, it requires significant investment; investment in the scouting set-up to find these players, significant funding to ensure you're buying assets that will actually be profitable and the money to lure them here and - importantly - a large enough budget to absorb the cost of the ones that don't make it. Farting around with loan deals and rolling the dice on kids on the periphery isn't going to cut it; you need the financial backing to be able to go out and secure top-level young talent that big clubs already know about and offer them first team experience and development, simply because the risk is so much lower and it's less of a lottery. It IS a marathon and not a sprint but the problem is we don't have time for a fucking marathon. We need money now.
  10. No doubt but the question is are you any better off once you take into consideration the extra stewarding needed once that mob are moved elsewhere (because you're bound by the league rules to take a minimum of them), the fact the police will kick up fuck, the fact that some RSCs will kick up fuck when their Parkhead allocation is decimated etc.? What we have right now is the path of least resistance; it works for all parties involved. It's optimal from a security and financial POV.
  11. The idea that the bheasts are somehow shite and we're not too far behind them is wishful thinking. If you believe that we're only one or two signings away from leveling the playing field, that's logically the same argument as saying we're one or two players away from going through the whole season undefeated (which that mob are threatening to do). Nuremberg Hugh just said on Clyde that if they win tomorrow, that's them beat a successive-games-witout-defeat record that's stood since the Lesbian Lions time. That's a measure of where their set-up is right now. The semi-final last season has a lot to answer for for wrecking people's expectations and realisation of where we are, I feel. The only way out is money and investment. Bottom line. And it needs to come soon because there comes a point maybe two or three years from now if they consistently secure CL money that it becomes nigh on fucking impossible to catch them on our own terms; we're rolling the dice every season hoping that they either implode or we fluke it. Fuck that.
  12. So long as we're charging the bheasts 50 quid a turn, there's no way we'll be rejecting that cash while we're in our currently parlous financial state. No chance. That's point one. Point two is that by dint of the access routes and the construction of the stadium, Ibrox is probably one of the most easily policed grounds in the country; on Old Firm days the fans are so successfully segregated that you don't see Timmy until you're inside the ground and they're isolated in their own stand. The idea that the polis are going to get inventive or start playing around with this arrangement is similarly a non-starter. Bottom line is the status quo suits the cops, suits the Tims and suits us all from a security and (more importantly) a business point of view. They won't change it.
  13. Not a fan of King at all but from a project management and planning point-of-view (not that he has a plan), I'm not sure it makes sense to spend money in this window if we think we can safely attain second place with the squad as it is. Right now, it's looking like we probably can and so it might be more astute to keep the money until the end of the season. Of course, whether or not the bold Dave will shell out then is questionable but that's a different issue.
  14. Seems to be the norm rather than the exception these days.
