Gerrard comes to us with one years experience coaching an under-18 team and he hasn't even completed his badges yet.  Even if he does get the squad fit who's to say he'll know what he's doing beyond that?  He's never done this job before and we have no idea how good or bad it's going to be.  Gerrard could be just another fraud in that dugout.  Too many false dawns have made me cynical.  Talk of fitness being important is just repetition of things we've heard before.  Sounds great but so did the previous clowns in their interviews.  Murty actually received praise on here for the manner in which he spoke to the press (prior to us all finding out he was fucking clueless).  Thankfully the competitive games aren't too far away and we're going to see what this guy's really all about soon enough.

I honestly get that and I agree it makes sense but I have a genuine fear some of them will be getting another chance which will be a massive, massive mistake.

There's absolutely no way I'm pulling my cock out and starting wanking just yet - we've no idea how good (or bad) these players will be for us. 
That said, I'm delighted we've said we are looking at the sort of markets we got Katic from - it's something I've advocated myself for the past couple of years and also the fact we could be signing players right up until the end of August is welcome news too.
Still a long way to go in this window and we have some amount of work still to do with both in's and out's - no one should be under any illusions there.

He's playing in.the championship mate. He is not worth anywhere near 22m. He's had 1 good season. It's a disgrace the money that players go for.
You could buy our club for about 8million more. The market is absolutely fucked. It's actually more than 22million as there is add ons as well apparently. England is a shambles of a place. 
German internationals go for.less than English championship players.

To save money? I'd rather we spent money on signings than chartering jets. Anyone who is embarrassed by that is welcome to pay for an aeroplane.
A few seasons ago people on here were livid that Mcoist had the players staying in hotels for Scottish away games. Nowdays we are expected to charter jets at the costs of tens of thousands of pounds to go for pre season training?
The players should get treated like champions once they have earned it, not before.
