  1. Sadly, it does not come down to what you or I think, the precedent was set with Clydebank or was it Meadowbank?
  2. I was merely highlighting that corruption is prevalent in any society including ours whether its a match official or David Murray etc What was the alternative?
  3. So, a match official here turning a blind eye or punishing a victim could not be construed as corruption?
  4. They were in a national sense, only A and B are national divisions. C is an interregional division, D and below are all non professional or amateur.
  5. Italy, Juventus 2006 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Italian_football_scandal
  6. I think it's quite clear to see that he does realise this. He states that it is not his job to change Scottish football that that responsibility lies with the media and authorities to change the mindset to football away from rugby\football. He's looking to get Rangers back to where they once were, competing against top opposition which is not going to happen for a number of reasons currently, but mainly as he points out, by suggesting Scottish football is utter dross by way of how well we don't do on not just the International stage but European stage too. Unfortunately, Rangers compete in the Scottish Premier League therefore the majority of teams faced will be hammer throwers.
  7. From what I remember, he was great player, don't think he was a prolific goalscorer but a workhorse nonetheless. When I signed my first S form I was on the right wing and remember wanting to emulate McKean from watching Sportscene (Pink Floyd Theme tune timeframe) or Scotsport (Arthur Montford Sports Jacket timeframe).
  8. Remember it well though, my Dad wasn't too keen on it, don't know if it was the price or the fact it had literally came off the back of a lorry...... then again so did the coal!
  9. Aye we had the slot meter for the telly 50p the electric 10p and the gas, again 50p I remember these times well with the melancholic in me sometimes wishing they hadn't passed Bobby McKean, Derek Parlane, John Greig, Derek Johnstone, Peter McCloy, Tam Forsyth, John MacDonald in my childhood I used to think I was any one of these characters when playing up the park.
  10. Like I said, I was seven and stood about 3 feet tall if I was lucky so missed most of the match due to everyone being twice as tall, my Dad lifted me onto his shoulders a couple of times but I'm sure I was probably more of a hinderence......
  11. Scottish Cup Final 1976 Rangers v Hearts, 3 - 1 I was seven, there with my Dad and remember being terrified when the goals were scored being that we were in the celtic end I remember it getting darker when everyone around me jumped up to celebrate. The smell of alcohol and urine not to mention the amount of cans and bottles strewn on the terrace at full time, changed days indeed.
  12. Clearly, I'm prone to the odd seizure..........
  13. Fixed that for you, merely a messenger......
  14. Copy and Paste most of it actually, but yeah, I typed out the result.......
  15. By Richard Wilson BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park St Johnstone fought back to draw with Rangers, leaving the Ibrox side 16 points behind Scottish Premiership leaders celtic. Barrie McKay put Rangers ahead after a dominant period for the visitors. However, that was all undone when Rob Kiernan's short passback.............. WED, 28 DEC 2016 SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP St Johnstone 1 - 1 Rangers The OP might want to re-assess his claim date, no?
  16. I agree, he starts the interview in saying that he has not had much involvement in the situation and then goes on to praise KM for the influence he has had on him then finishes with the hope that the issue is resolved quickly. I fail to see where LW is taking sides on this.
  17. Pedro, is going nowhere well, not at least until the end of the season once the board assess his performance or rather his teams performance over the season. For me, I reckon the KM debacle has came about from the armband situation with GD nothing more, nothing less. I believe it has escalated to where it is now due to KM's ego. For anyone hoping for another PLG situation, catch yourself on, it's not going to happen for various reasons, beyond that I believe BA will be THE club Captain going forward common sense suggests his experience alone would afford him this position. While Pedro goes on about having five Captains which I don't disbelieve, I can't help but feel the five Captains has been a ruse and that his intention was always to have BA in that position. Basically, Pedro has came in with the remit to cleanse the team and instil his own ideas which are being seen to be producing results, not as quickly as some would like but, progress is being made at a rate I would say was rational given the situation Unity and all pulling in the same direction is what brings success, the direction is given by the Manager and the Manager is selected by the board. An over the hill player spitting the dummy out is not going to get the manager sacked, no matter how much you wish it would.
  18. Perhaps if you did, you'd realise why he wasn't "punted forthwith". And with your above admission and further additional insults, we are done. You have shown yourself to be an emotional mess of an excuse for a pape, that is incapable of offering anything of value to back up your emotion driven assertions, your input is not going to take us forward. Let us know how your call with Dave King goes regards getting your pub team in? Until then, you're - note the apostrophe - on block. PS. Try pulling your shoulders back, just a little.......just enough, that it lifts your knuckles off the ground.......
  19. I appreciate your sarcasm however, both therefor and therefore are both equally acceptable in this particular instance but, I'm sure you knew that, no?
  20. You can repeat all you want, you still cannot spell therefor calling people idiot and expecting to be taken seriously is quite incomprehensible. For clarification and I really feel I am wasting my time in explaining this to you however, try and understand the following In all that you have said\typed here it is purely subjective as in you are making irrational claims about pub teams etc that have absolutely no basis in fact whatsoever, you are making irrational statements based purely on emotion. People like me are not making any excuses, people like me are trying to be objective as in we are looking at the facts and putting our emotions to one side and coming to our conclusions. Now, for the record, I conclude that it is too early to pump the Portuguese as I believe that he should only be judged from what happens after the transfer window closes - for me the transfer window should close before the season starts but it doesn't. Once the window has closed there is no room for excuses because from that point onward the ownership of the team is his, he will have made his signings and should have his plan in place, if the results are not coming then yes, I would fully expect for his head to be called for as there would be no escaping the facts therefor, no excuses. Now, the Progres defeat regardless that our expectation was to beat them the FACT of the matter is this, the team fielded consisted of recognised duds he inherited and a handful of new players who had just arrived at a time of MAJOR upheaval, for me the defeat, while unacceptable it was hardly surprising given the facts. The expectation on this very board was that Limassol would end our Europa League run, as it transpired the so called pub team from Luxembourg ran them very close, make of that what you will. Financially, we are in no position to make knee-jerk reactions based purely on emotion, following your reasoning we'd be bankrupt by the new year. The FACT that it took two attempts to get out of the Championship with no significant improvement and a manager that chucked it halfway through when he realised he couldn't meet our expectation with the dross he employed but no, you expect instant results from his replacement. Anyway enough about that, I'd really like to hear about your phone call to Dave King, I'll gamble he's really excited at the savings your pub team are going to bring, no?
  21. Agreed 100% while I can understand wanting to get some kind of financial return on these players, they have served their purpose. Some have shown to have potential if'n they could just get their act together, others have shown their limit to be the Championship. They have earned their place in our history and I am sure they will understand......in time......that their best efforts just weren't good enough to continue wearing the Famous Royal Blue of The Most Successful Football Club in the world The Mighty Glasgow Rangers.......... for those not ITK! Forget them, move on, they are not part of the solution, concentrate on what matters.
  22. Respectfully, I disagree with your opening statement, from my perspective we will be in the right place in 6 weeks time to determine whether PC is the man to take us forward until then we should 100% be behind what they are trying to achieve. The drastic changes have been made, two or three more to go then a short settling in period, if and when it clicks, I look forward to you having some cheer back in your life with regard to The Mighty Glasgow Rangers.
  23. Fixed your first line for you Your second is conjecture and means nothing, the jury is out re Pedro, judge the man after the 31st August once he has FULL responsibility for a team that is his And your third, see your fixed first. Ask yourself this, why did Warburton want away from the worlds most successful team? because he knew the game was up, because he knew HIS team were "dog shit clearly". Out of what, a squad of 25 players he takes 1 a single solitary 1 that's how much confidence he had in HIS squads ability. Last season was grim and should never be repeated what we need now more than ever is unity, the team, the squad, the manager, the backroom staff they need us, the fans and supporters of our Great Ibrox Institution to get behind them and be the 12th man, show them we believe in them. The supports display at Sheffield should and MUST be repeated week in week out ad nauseam. Or perhaps you are right that the business acumen at Ibrox has it all wrong that they have foolishly spent these millions when quite clearly they should have been on the phone to your local semi pro club.
  24. So, you'll be able to enlighten us then, if there is no excuse then, how did we lose?
  25. Fair comment however, they still need to qualify to get that money. I'll bet there were a few frayed nerves last night for what was reckoned as a given.........they are nowhere near as good as they think they are and I reckon there will be teams getting results against them this season and beyond. Nothing ever lasts forever........
