  1. It's too early to say anything about the manager. We knew from the beginning he's a rookie, and will consequently take some time to find his feet. His potential upside is huge, so we have to accept what we knew would be stumbles along the way. March appears to be becoming a bit of a nightmare month though. If I remember rightly it was a similar situation last year. I don't know if it's just the self-belief that comes with playing in a successful Rangers side (or doesn't), but I think it'll sort itself out when we're back to full strength. It's clear to me that we're still recovering.
  2. I knew we weren't getting the finished article in Gerrard, but it feels like he's too content to just drift along as we are, losing these big games through guttlessness & a lack of ideas. Sickened tbh.
  3. No need for this tarrier chat (for the record they are filthy child molesting bastards). It doesn't matter what I think Morelos is worth, we're talking about what rich clubs will pay. Until he's proven himself on a bigger stage, the big money is unlikely to materialise. Literally the difference to these clubs between a ~£10m and a ~£20m player is his having demonstrated he can cut it at the next level. That's the very thing they pay extra for. Clearly Morelos has the raw ingredients to play at the top level, but that doesn't tend to be enough on its own (especially for players at Scottish clubs) to seal the big money deal. We'll see. I'd love to be wrong.
  4. An in-his-prime Barry in the middle with Kamara and we would tear this league apart. Wouldn't need anyone else brought in. The way he used to control the game, slow it down before launching an attack, it's exactly what we're missing right now.
  5. Morelos will rightly earn us a substantial return on our investment in him - he's a good striker who is still developing towards his potential. But we're setting ourselves up for disappointment if we think it'll be a £20 million fee, or even half that, without him demonstrating a few things to potential suitors. Chiefly, playing well over a decent number of games against quality opposition, and demonstrating that he has the brains to go with his obvious skill & power. More encouraging is that we seem to be on the right track. Buying rough diamonds & polishing them up has to be our approach - the days of off-the-peg quality will not be back for a few seasons at least. When eventually we do part with him (I'd accept £8m right now, hopefully more in a year), we must ensure that his replacement(s) are already scouted & ready to sign.
  6. Best bit of business in who knows how long, SG's knowledge paying off there. The key will be finding the right player to play alongside him - do that and we'll have the makings of a league winning midfield. Something like a poor man's Luka Modric required in the summer.
  7. He's getting very hard to listen to these days. I guess time is on his side, but if there isn't another twist in the tale, history will record the story of Ally McCoist and Rangers as a bittersweet one. Not something I'd have foreseen in my youth.
  8. Forgiven is the wrong word. But he's so far above anyone else at the club right now - and frankly anyone in Scotland - that it's impossible not to be glad he's back.
  9. Think you might have misunderstood mate.
  10. These misheard lyrics are called 'mondegreens'. (shifty eyes) Fuckdegreens.
  11. I hope all who took this travesty as a chance to stick the boot into a promising 22 year old player repeatedly miss the urinal, and hit their shoes.
  12. These anti-Morelos posts are sickening. Remind yourselves- He's a promising young Rangers player who was on the receiving end of an extremely questionable decision. If you do not stand behind him, you're a coward and a tool of the corrupt SFA.
  13. My experience was that my kids loved their first visit and were bored thereafter. This boredom lasted until their late teens. A love of a club comes from them having someone who they look up to, who wears their support on their sleeve.
  14. Can't help but think this will back-fire. Croat Scroats.
  15. > I think Allan now has two centre halves in front of him that he trusts — and they trust him. This bit, essentially, makes me cum.
  16. Fuck all to do with sour grapes bud. They shafted us, but we're not obliged to let them rub it in our faces surely? That good season-ticket holding bears will benefit by not getting chucked out of their seats is an added bonus.
  17. I think that's the point. The scum have connived with authorities to a point where their team is unarguably stronger than ours. And lets face it, nobody wants to hear their terrorist-loving dirges at Ibrox, so 800 is all they get. Better a sombre Ibrox than a green & grey party one. It does throw our away fans under a bus, and that's a shame, but it's a temporary reaction to circumstances beyond our control.
  18. It's like having a hole in yer bucket & blaming the water for flowing out. Rangers used to inspire respect (and no little fear) in the scribblers. Thus coverage was fair, with both sides able to enjoy the fruits of a mutually beneficial relationship. These days, as with so much surrounding the club, we lack the business calibre to get even the basics right. The worst of it is that as a support, we are teeming with the know-how to solve all our problems, business-wise. Until we sort it out, our bumbling back-end operation will suffocate the life out of on-field shoots of recovery.
  19. I'd give my left ball for a figurehead like JW at Ibrox once more.
  20. You're right of course, but honestly, the status 'legend' becomes meaningless if assigned to a player of Miller's calibre.
  21. The way we let crayon wielding morons in the gutter press frame our business leaves much to be desired. A decade ago none would have dared spout shite like this, for they knew the consequences would have been severe.
  22. You can't say anything about our defence vs attack from these figures. Goalie aside, we are far behind them all over the pitch, but forwards are closer than the rest. I'd argue Morelos is the closest thing we have to a serious outfield player. He gets a goal every other game, while fluffing enough chances to double that rate. This justifiably annoys the armchair fan, but it means he's doing many things right, is getting in great positions, but that there's just one (relatively easily fixed) bit of the puzzle missing. 22 year olds stray offside more, and are almost always worse at converting chances, than older players. Most don't like him, I don't care.
  23. We did though, it's a fact. As a team we score goals, but we lose games through conceding too often. I think folk are confusing likeability with quality to some extent.
  24. State of the media is a well-worn discussion, but DJ really is a subject worth revisiting. Not only does he spout almost unending shite, acquiescing to anti-Rangers arguments at every opportunity, but by his presence he takes a seat at the table away from someone who could actually talk sense into the green-and-grey propagandists we suffer as journalists. We've been on our arse too long. The first signs of real recovery will be when charlatans like DJ are chased into the sunset.
  25. This has been suggested a few times over the last couple of years, and yet it never happens. Makes me think there must be some health & safety or insurance fuckery stopping us, cause otherwise that's a lot of goodwill/free man hours getting left on the table.
