Played our last winter league 5 club challenge, driver, 5 iron, 8 iron, SW n putter, 20 points after 8 holes playing superbly apart from one crap SW approach. Finished with 37 points, missed a few putts from inside 3 feet in those last ten holes.

Can accept missed putts on poor greens, can't accept shit wedges, practice area for me

Anyone that’s a member of a course are you back on fairways ? Played Irvine Bogside today and was told by the pro that they were still taking into the rough then out on the course every group we seen were hitting off the fairway. The fairways at my course have been on since last midweek.

We will still be on mats, probably until after this weekend.

Bogside is a cracking track

a team of four scratch golfers and a few winter greens.

That explains it. Birdies galore. When I played at Beith they stopped teams like that going out, 15 or 16 birdies a round, no competition

What an effort from Poulter. Thought he qualified for The Masters last weekend after winning his last Match Play match only to be told it wasn't enough. Decided to play the Houston this week to see if he could make The Masters. Started slowly but is about 14 under par for his last two rounds, currently leading and needs the win to qualify for The Masters. Think he might come up a bit short but great effort............

Fantastic effort from Poulter, I like him, he seems to have his Ruder Cup head on the last two rounds

Played our texas scramble yesterday, first time back in full course, no run and very cold. Elderslie makes a draw, usually putting a low man in with two middle handicappers and one high man. Came in with 56.6, the only team to break 60 in the morning round. Not sure if we won though.

I seriously need to practise my wedges, only bit if my game I am concerned about just now. That may change when I play the Kings course on Friday.
