Yeah mate same. Stableford and everyone starts on 3/4 of your handicap and then over the winter only reductions are made, .1 for any scores over 36 and .2 for any scores over 40.

I had 38 points on Sunday so cut .1.

We also run an order of merit so you have a prize to play for at end of season.

Aye we are stableford but it just goes with points each week how much you get cut can play Saturday or Sunday which is good for football but our course shortened so much and we don’t have a winter card so the points are through the roof we are 3/4 as well. Think it’s 6 best scores over the winter go towards the winter league table overall the prizes are really good.

Aye we are pretty much the same mate.

Shorter lay out but we play off the longest tees available sonon Saturday prob still had around 12 whites still out, but it’ll come when the course is short.

The order of merit is good as gives people a challenge and something to keep playing for.

Anyone remember Steven O’hara that played on the European tour originally came from my course his brother is playing in the British masters this week he’s level par after round 1 @bigsasasfloopyhair sure you said you knew him/ played against him at junior level

Yeah I know Steven. He was a fantastic player. Last time we spoke he had just came off tour.

I remember playing a practice round at Dunbar for the Scottish boys and watching this guy in group ahead hit the ball so cleanly, that was Steven. You could just tell he was a player.

Putting was always his downfall.

Yeah when he was on tour he was near the top in GIR and fairways hit but his putting let him down. I actually seen Paul on the chipping area on Saturday there when I was playing the medal. Think their dad still holds a handicap of 7-8 doesn’t hit the ball far but gets up and down 8-9 times out of 10 from inside 100 yards.

Week 2 of the winter sweep and only 30 Stableford points, so pretty poor.

However a flushed 3 iron down the last (par 3) at Lanark to 3 inches will see me back next week.

Never had a hole in one and by fuck was this close. Genuinely think I’d have jizzed ma pants!!!

Closing day tomorrow as last week got cancelled due to weather. 2 man team both tee off then you pick the best drive and alternate shots from there there is a name for it but no idea what it’s called.

Green some foursome, a foursome is one player tees off on all the odd numbers while your partner tees off on all the even holes, both formats then it’s alterna shots.....I think.

Just spent an hour at the range with this DST 8 Iron designed to work on compression of the golf ball and a more forward press strike. By fuck does it work.

Feel like I’ve had a work out due to it forcing you into the correct position.

Anyone else used one?
