I thought he played better today though he is lacking in belief a bit at the moment. Ferrer is having a great season tho, he is probably in the top 3 or 4 on clay so Murray was always the underdog in this one.

I expected Ferrer to win, he has been in good form, clay is his best surface, it is Murray's worst.

He'll pick up soon, even if it is as far away as the HC season.

You would have thought Murray would have been at home on this surface since he grew up playing on it. But after a few poor tournaments it looks like his worst surface !

Its a myth that Murray grew up on clay courts. Yeh he went to be coached in Barca but he played predominently on hard courts there (tu)

As a youth, his record on Clay was superior to all other surfaces.

Clearly has struggled to make the transition in the surface.

Wtf? Dumped?

Some people really crack me up i tell ya! Ferrer is top 5 on clay without a shadow of a doubt.

Compared to Monte Carlo and Miami this performance was vastly improved. Can't please some folk!!

It's not really a bad defeat at all. Even playing well, Murray would struggle to beat Ferrer on clay.

This. Ferrer's a fantastic clay court player.

It's a joy to watch some of the Spanish player's playing on this surface.

2 confident performances from Murray in Madrid, seems to be getting his form back

David Ferrer next, who just beat him a few weeks ago.

Is Nadal worried that we won't notice his muscles or something? Tennis players are supposed to wear polo shirts son.

On match point, completely missed the ball, must've taken a dodgy bounce.

Decent first set from Andy tbh. Richard just outplayed him! Hoping fatigue is gonna start kicking in for him shortly.

Yeah needs to get his finger out, or he's going out.

I'm going to give Gasquet some credit, instead of questioning Murray performance.

Gasquet looks like he's back enjoying tennis, and is showing some of the form that had him tipped for the very top.
