***Craig Whyte thread***

source!!!!!!!!! the only time i have ever heard whyte mention the debt is when he is telling us that we are now debt free to Lloyds, not debt free altogether

so we havent spent 5 million but are now stronger than our title winning team, i again fail to see your problem here, to me we got a few bargains, lets spend 2million on an unfit cuellar or 500k on goian, you'd be some manager weissman

point two relates to this, why would he spend money for spending money's sake, we are now only competiting in scotland this season purely down to mccoist and the players, and we have a squad currently that is filled with 3iar winners and new guys that have helped us to top of the league after 5 games with only 1 goal conceded

but again you'd rather we bought cuellar months ago and watch as broadfoot costs us goals at centre half everygame while cuellar sits in the treatment room

i was always suspicious of you and your financial disaster threads that have now turned to abusing the new owner who has saved us from savage cuts implemented by the bank (tu)

lol you've changed your tune on the bank.

Thing is though....As is being proved right now...... None of it has been pish.

The Whole regime thus far has failed with its promises and targets.

With all the 'Top of the League' patrol thinking that makes everything okay.

A lot of it has been though. Like all the stuff levelled at McCoist. Yes our tactics let us down against Malmo at home but that doesn't mean the players were blameless (Whittaker etc) so all the shit said about him after that was OTT and pish. For anything that has gone wrong in your eyes, there will be undoubtedly be many factors and trying to blame it all on someone is just wrong.

It doesn't make everything ok but it also doesn't mean that everythings terrible and the new regime are worthless. And if we were 2nd in the league, people would be moaning that we weren't top.

Whyte would be a fool to go out and spend £4mil+ tonight. Thats how we got into this mess in the first place, lack of european income but continuing to spend big regardless. If we start splashing the cash now, we will be in a mess in a couple of years and people will be saying "he was stupid to spend that money knowing we had no income from european football".

That said however, he should have spent that money from the off when we were still in Europe instead of going on holidays. He knew we had an early start to the season, and when the two most important games of the entire season (from a financial perspective) are played within the first 3 weeks, the money has to be spent by then, and i'm sorry but the holidays should have been cancelled or rescheduled. Had we had a few more faces in for the games against Malmo and Maribor, it's very likely we would have gone through.

The damage is done, and he would be a fool to spend big now, but it shouldn't have come to this.

good post m8t, but it has come to this, we got caught out, if we have to balance the books then whyte

has to do it

Are you deliberately missing the point here or what ?

See if we didnt want to have an injured player, why the fukk did we put a bid in for him in the first place ???????????????????????

Nail on head for me, we seem to have went through quite a bit of the motions.

jesus christ this is murder

obviously cuellar and villa and even rangers believed he would be fit a lot quicker than now

when it was seen that he wouldnt be, villa quickly accpeted a 2million quid bid from us that they laughed at only weeks earlier

and rangers quite rightly told them the deal was off, and we got goian instead who has been arguably the best defender this season for us

They do get a bit tiresome especially as one seems to be a direct copy of another.

Exactly. You get one thread saying we haven't spent what was promised, and its a disgrace. And then 5 mins later someone starts another with the "where would we be without him/Lloyds still in charge/Best players sold".

The fact remains that we are better off under Whyte, but perhaps expectations haven't been managed properly. We have been disappointing with transfers, but have still kept all of our best players (outwith Bougherra, who didn't want to be here). Lets just wait and see what happens, and see how the season unfolds

Because we don't agree that Whyte is a lying charlatan who's only purpose in buying Rangers was to run us into the ground and run off with a profit, that means we don't care about going out of iEurope? <cr> Sanctimonious shite (td)

Whyte had spent money before we went out of Europe, and we had the players to get through. Those players let us down in Europe, not Whyte.

Who said that?

Whyte, McCoist and the players have let us down this season so far. No matter how many times we are told that the players were good enough, the results keep coming along and booting that theory in the baws. The warning signs had been there from the first match against Lotte and concerns grew with each passing game. The same people continually pulled out the 'don't panic' card and gave assurances that Whyte and McCoist would have us ready. They never. They failed, they cost us money, they cost us co-efficient points and they cost us prestige.

McCoist has been pilloried for his deficiencies as have the players. Why the reluctance to allow any criticism of the owner for the part he has played in all of this?

here we go again

mccoist identified targets, we didnt get them

cuellar: wasnt fit to buy, rangers done correct pulling out

juhasz (sp): anderlecht changed stance

verheok: didnt want to move to UK

goodwillie, didnt want to come to us anyway

so mccoist identified other targets

bocanegra: 98 cap, 140 odd EPL appearances

goian: strolled his opening career here

bedoya: we got him

mckay: we got him

just because we havent spent multi millions doesnt mean fuck all, the fact we are top of the league would suggest that the targets brought in have worked out well, so who cares what they were worth

i can never understand the importance people place on player value on here

12mill for flo

400k for boyd

someone tell me the better transfer out of Flo and Boyd again

well said mate

because the owner has allowed additions to a title winning squad that wnt to the last 16 of the Europa league last season

not many teams win the double and get to march still in europe and then go out and improve every area in their squad mate, especially when your playing in a shitey league as we are

is that our account for the last 6 months, on my phone so cant download PDF's

No its the later circular from Craig Whyte that proves the £18m debt we had with lloyds is now owed to him as things stand.

That of course is only part of the debt as im 99% positive when the set of accounts are released there will be more debt still in there as well.

He lied. (tu)

if craig whyte says the debt is now owed to him, but he also claims the club is debt free, then who is to say that he will ever attempt to get the debt back

are rangers being forced to pay back their debt to whytes company just now, are we being held back financially by the 18million debt

craig whyte has improved a double winning domestically team that got to the last 16 of the Europa League, and yet you still moan
