*** The Official Football Manager 2012 Thread***

Been on some personal scouting missions for this lad and had one of my scouts constantly watching him. He and his teammate Erick Torres are amazing but Chivas look for about £10 million each though which is way out of my price range :(

Really? Cheers, will have a look at Torres aswell.

My scout reckons I could get Fierro for £3.5million, might sell Vossen and bring this lad in.

Everything going well in all competitions except the Scottish Cup because Dundee Utd put me out 3-2 with a stoppage time winner :(

A triumph in tactics in this match :uk:

Has anyone else had bother with goal difference.

In champions league got drawn against Basel, Arsenal, and SLB.

Was all even going into the last game of the group (all teams on 7 pts) and i got absolutely battered by Arsenal, was expecting it to be honest, lot of injuries/suspensions meant i was playing my second 11.

Anyway, Basel beat SLB, which meant them and Arsenal went though, leaving me and SLB on equal points. Now, this is where i thought goal difference would kick in, but im on -2 GD (13 for 15 against) while SLB are on -6 GD (10 for and 16 against).

Surely this means i would get into the Europa league as a third placed team, but the table is showing SLB above me.

Anyone else had this? Is it a known bug? Is there anything i can do about it?

Never went to a head to head, SLB went into the UEFA cup, even though i had better GD and more goals scored.

Fucking bollocks!

WOW.png

OH. MY. GOD.

I will never have any clue how I won this, let alone score 5 goals in the first half! (although I suspect it was my tactical mastery :sherlock:)

Revenge. is. priceless.

Only downside is it's yet another 2 matches added to my fixture list and it's either Man City or Juve :anguish: :anguish: :anguish: :anguish:

3-3 draw, and a 1-0 win to them.

Is that what you meant by head to head? I'm such a div, i thought for some reason there would be another game!

Aye they beat you on head to head, think of it as an aggregate win for them.

I've got City in the EL semi-final but I'm up for the challenge and really, really hoping we can pull off yet another upset :D

BUT, I have 4 games in 9 days AGAIN :power_of_anguish:

I am officialy scared of this team

Thisteamgivesmethefear.png

What a goal by Griffiths for the winner, took the ball from inside his own half on the counter, came to the byline inside the box, cut inside a little and unleashed a rocket that went post and then top corner :praise:

Here's hoping I can hold on for the 2nd leg

I only need to win 1 of my 3 remaining SPL games and the next one is 3 days after that City game, away to Celtic (for the 3RD time this season in the league :shifty:)

Got the papes at home for the title. Even if I lose, I'll still win the league, I'm 9 clear with 9 left and have a ludicrous goal difference.

Got my laptop back after punching the screen in rage with this shitey fucking game.

Started a new game with my home team Dumbarton.

Semi-Pro in Division 2.

Media Prediction is 8th and the board want me to avoid relegation.

3.7k per week for ages and 5k for transfer budget.

Signed big Bob FTP Malcolm as my anchor in midfield.

Arranged friendlies against Rangers and Dundee Utd for much needed revenue.

With Hibs i knocked Rangers out of the league cup semis to play Celtic in the final, then i knocked Celtic out the SC 5th Round only to be drawn against Rangers in the 1/4 finals :disappointment:

Finished my first season about a week ago.

Sold McCulloch, Edu and Broadfoot for... can't even remember, a petty total sum anyway.

Brought in Imanol Agirretxe (Real Sociedad £800k), Jelle Vossen (Genk £875k), Steed Malbranque (free), Sean Davis (Bolton loan).

The most picked team for the season was roughly:

McGregor

McMillan

Goian

Bartley

Wallace

Ness/Bedoya (CM(s), BWM(d))

Davis (AP(s))

Fleck (W (a))

Naismith (AMR (inside forward))

Agirretxe (AF (a))

Jelavic (AF (a))

Whole team was brilliant all season.

We were given a group of Arsenal, Napoli & CSKA Moscow after a relatively easy qualifying path v Sebo's mob and Maribor. I was determind to attack in Europe and not upset our domestic styles rythem.

CSKA Moscow 4-0 Rangers

Rangers 3-1 Arsenal

Napoli 3-0 Rangers

Rangers 1-3 Napoli

Rangers 2-0 CSKA Moscow

Arsenal 2-2 Rangers

Napoli

Rangers

Arsenal

CSKA Moscow

We battled back from 2-0 down at ht away to Arsenal to draw and send us through on head to head results against Arsenal to the first KOR where we met Bayern Munich. We inevitably lost 5-2 on agg... but it wasn't as hard as it looked. We lost 3-2 at Ibrox which was a kick in the teeth as I felt we deserved more, but the class of Robben, Ribery, Muller and Gomez handed us a defeat. 2-0 defeat away from home was expected tbh.

We wrapped up the first trophy of the season as we beat Hearts 3-0 in the CIS. We then followed this on by winning the league by 16-22 points, cant remember what but it was somewhere in that bracket.

We then ended the season with the treble by beating Dundee United in the SCF.

All this culminated in the handing of £8m to spend next season and I will retain the domestic treble.

Joey Barton threatens to quit Football Manager after argument with himself

Joey Barton isn't impressed with the attitude of his in-game character in Football Manager 2012 - even threatening to quit the game because he was annoying himself so much.

Barton got a taste of his own medicine when he took control of QPR on the popular football management simulator but had to deal with an angry and brash footballer - himself.

The 29-year-old had to contend with his overly argumentative computer game counterpart, and it seems even he couldn't stand it.

After playing the game for a while, he tweeted: 'Just had my 1st argument with myself on FM 2012.

'Gonna have to quit, cos am doing my own head in.'

The controversial midfielder was also annoyed by the makers of the game, who he says got his measurements wrong.

He continued: 'FYI @footballmanager I am not born in Runcorn. I am not 5'9 (5'11) and I am not 11st (12st). If ur gonna do it properly...'

If all that wasn't enough, Barton then got into a Twitter fight with his perennial online antagonist, Piers Morgan.

After Morgan said of Barton's character on another well-known football game: '@Joey7Barton On my FIFA 12, your character dives, gets Gervinho sent off, then sticks his head where he shouldn't, gets sent off, and moans.'

However, Barton retorted: '@piersmorgan on mine......... oh sorry your not on mine! #fatkidatschoollastpickorgoalkeeper #fifa12'

Boys, boys...
