disgruntled_bear 157 Posted November 29, 2011 Share Posted November 29, 2011 I know but the problems have been there for all to see for 11 years, before those years it didn't matter because at that time we were spending money like there was no tomorrow, over the past 10 or so years we have started going backwards rather than forwards to build for the futureEck, plg, smith and now allyShort term fixes that have cost us, the spending money only covers up for half the problems we currently have. Lack of direction from grass route level is costing us heavily now.To be fair to PLG, he tried to change things out that group of Managers mentioned, but we all know of the off the field antics that stalled anything from carrying on.We only know one style of play, and were too stubborn to change it. I could understand it if we were through in the group stages of the Champions League only if we didnt concede 4!!So right, you would rather we went out attacking and give these younger guys more freedom? Then you get to watch us get pumped off of a German team whos reserve players are far more talented and gifted than our first team, face it the days of challenging good European opposition are over until we start spending a bit of cash but we cannot do so at this moment in time.Why do people expect us to beat these teams when their players are far better and they're are financially way ahead of us.
