Gordon Smith on Sky today as a pundit

We had no strong CB pairing at the time. Weir was injured, Bougherra had pissed off by then I'm sure. Goian just arrived and Boca came in for the last two games was it? I'm not defending the players, they should've have beaten both of those teams but I feel the players that were brung in didn't cut it and had little to no time to settle in.

Bougherra and Weir both started the Malmo game at home. Bocanegra was signed for the Maribor tie. Papac was there too. Of the 4 line ups which took the field in the 4 European ties, all 4 were good enough to win those ties but i do agree bringing new players in so late was not ideal. Work should have started as soon Ally arrived at Auchenhowie for his first day as manager. I dont think the players were physically ready for the seasons start.
