Spurs and Real to work together

Tottenham have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Luka Modric.

As part of the deal, the two clubs have signed a "partnership agreement" which will lead to collaboration "in respect of players, coaching, best practices and commercial relationships".

Modric is due in Madrid today to undergo a medical before completing his move for a fee believed to be £33m.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy told the club's official website: "Luka has been a terrific player for us.

"Whilst we preferred not to part with him, we are pleased that it is to Real Madrid, a club with which we now look forward to sharing a long and productive partnership."

Real president, Florentino Perez Rodriguez, said, "The strong relationship and affinity between our two clubs has resulted in the cementing of a longer-term partnership and the successful transfer of Luka Modric.

"We are delighted to welcome Luka and look forward to working closely with Tottenham in the coming years."

Translation: We won't take Bale away from you this year, but see you in 2013!

Haha - too slow! :D

So Spurs become a feeder club for Real then! Spurs will get some young players and players not good enough for the first team.
