Shaqiri is a winger, Lallana isn't. I'm not even sure why there is such a comparison going in tbh.

Liverpool will more than likely use Lallana out wide, with Sterling in the middle.

The point is they're both attacking midfielders and can pretty much play any of the front 3 positions. That's why there's a comparison.

Lallana has been impressive no doubt. But if you compared his Per 90 stats with Shaqiri he gets blown out of the water. Not only that but he's also younger and built like a fucking tank. Considering how likely it is now that bayern may sell him due to not being able to guarantee him a place on the team it would be stupidity for a decent EPL club not to go for him

EDIT: here is a comparison of Lallana and Shaqiri's overlays.

Don't necessarily find those stat comparisons helpful when one played for Southampton and the other played for Bayern Munich.

Have a read of this article then by the guy that actually did a lot of stat work on Shaqiri because it will invariably be better explained than what i can write

I think it's a bit harsh to say Lallana isn't a good player, overpriced probably but that's standard these days

Yeah no-one is saying Lallana is bad. By all means he is a really decent english player who could hold down a place on most teams. He just isn't worth the price liverpool are paying for him IMO.
