There have been major developments in Manchester United's pursuit of Arturo Vidal.

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has resigned despite winning three Serie A titles in a row, in an apparent disagreement over transfer policy.

Vidal, a central midfielder United dearly need, is claimed to be in the middle of it.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport report United 'may have increased their offer' over the past few hours, leading to Conte's eventual departure, describing it as the'straw that broke the camel's back'.

Juventus had already failed in their pursuit of Alexis Sanchez who signed for Arsenal this summer.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport report that Vidal's agent Fernando Felicevich has been in 'almost daily telephone contact' with Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta in attempt to 'create fertile ground for the displacement of Vidal'.

Vidal had been key in Conte's Juventus success, and the future of midfielder Paul Pogba is also under further scrutiny following the manager's exit.

Sky Italia report defender Patrice Evra is 're-considering' his options after seemingly being set for a move to Juventus.

Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with AS Monaco winger James Rodriguez.

AS says Real have struck terms with the Colombian, who hopes a fee can now be agreed with AS Monaco before he returns from holiday for August 1.

Real now have the word of the player and his agent, Jorge Mendes, who has negotiated an annual salary of €7.5 million for his client.

The latest proposal to Monaco is expected to be €70 million cash plus midfielder Casemiro.

Scumdee potentially making more money!

That could be the club debt completely wiped out and they in reality would be richer than us at this time now

£6m for the 3 players

That's the Scottish media who have bummed these guys up to be better than what they really are.

The united owner is seeing the success of running around with his partner in crime from the east end of glasgow.

They have had the media overhyping average players to get top money for the last 6 yrs

Never bought into that argument.

Do foreign clubs really overpay for players because the Daily Record says they're good?
