It's very, very easy to fall into the trap with online betting, and this is just a wee message to bears to gamble responsibly.

If anyone find theirselves getting further into the gambling blackhole, there are various people you can contact.

I'm currently seeing professionals about a gambling problem. My gambling had started from just a wee fiver on a coupon on a Saturday afternoon at the Bookies shop, to a few hundred pound a week, it had got that far because of online betting.

It's very, very easy to fall into the trap with online betting, and this is just a wee message to bears to gamble responsibly.

I wouldn't want anyone to end up in a position such as myself.

Good for you for getting help!

I agree online betting can get you hooked like nothing else. For a while I was spending money on football games every day even though I didn't know the teams playing. Plus the online casino gets me, you can always just whack another £20 on and lose it in 2 minutes. I think the problem is that you never actually see the money as opposed to being in bookies/casino.

I won't touch anything now apart from weekend coupons and big golf tournaments.

I recommend grasp group on twitter/messageboard, nice guy that runs the twitter feed and happy to listen and a very decent forum.

I've spoken to them before, not anti gambling but anti problem gambling.

Went to a Gamblers Anonymous meeting last night in Cambuslang, and just back from one in Rutherglen there.

Im at a stage where the roulette was ruining my life, it would get me in a right state and stopped me from having a normal life. So ive started going to get help with that and am willing to try anything to get better. The thing is though im not surfe if im ready to give up the coupons yet, because I can control that and dont spend the amount a do on the machines. But these meeting encourage staying away from all gambling.

Just placed a £5 free loyalty bet on my 365 and after that Im going to try and stop altogetgher, but it will be hard. I LOVE football I watch it everynight aswell as play it all the time so its going to be a struggle. But I'll see how I get on.

Mate Roullette is the big fucker. Well the machines are. Myself and a few of the boys from the football team and my mates have all been hooked to it. Getting paid and spunking nearly 1k of yer wages in the machine in 3 hours is when yae know its bad.

I play the roullette platinum now on Ladbrokes and will only ever deposit the odd money in my account. ie if i have 34.60 i will put the 4.6 in and see how i go. I have not played a machine in the bookies other than the odd pound or two in 2 months. Its hard as you think its a way to make a quick buck. Most people wouldnt stick 1k on a horse when they have been paid but on the machines they will.

I really dont get why we believe we are in control of winning money back when on the machines. We have zero control over them.

I am kinda the same as you mate. I have no desire to give up on coupons or even the horses but they were not my problem it was the machines. I was at the stage if i had a night out and had say 140 left towards the end of the month i would go and play the roullette and usually end up not being able to go out as i had lost or having to tap the money i just lost to go out.

Hope you can get it sorted mate because its fucking horrible and i know exactly how yae feel

Too right mate, the story you told there I've don't about 20 times.

I want o buy trainers or boots or something and al go, the 80quid I need for that al put in the machine and see if I can win the 80 to pay for them. Then BOOM, 200quid later a walk out like oh well. Insane lol.

The time for testing me won't come until I get my wage at the end of the month, because I physically haven't got any money to put in the machines haha.

Thinking about puttin a coupon on on Saturday but I don't know if I should.

What to try is. Say you have five or ten on sat, walk in and write out your coupon, put it all on your coupons and walk straight back out. Dont even look at anyones balance on their machine as that will get you interested in playing.

I know GA meetings are probably good mate and feel like your getting a weight off your shoulders but at the end of day only you can help you. Talking when your not at, near or in a bookies is fine. Its when you have the opportunity that matters.

All the best wae it mate

This sums up gambling.

My usual bets on the virtuals are 2 and 5 RFC.

I walked into the WH in Thornliebank at 11:00am, had a look at the next few offs, took my time and missed the. 11:11am at Thunder Alley. Low and behold the 2 and 5 FC came in at odds of 66/1 and 6/1. I went on to lose £150. Mugs game.

Getting greedy is my problem, will stick £10 in then win £50+ on the roulette, For me to go fuck it try get £100 then only to lose it all. Then i'll stick another tenner in then lose that, Get so pissed off and angry after as well! Going to cap my deposit to £10 a week. I need to stop it here before it gets bad. £10 could become £100 or even more.

This is it lads, we all think gamblings our own wee personal thing, our own hardluck stories etc... Always last minute goals doing us, or one team fucking us.

But these meetings make you realise it happenes to us all, and there's a lot of people a helluva worse off than yourself.

Look forward to seeing you's tmoro night at Cambuslang :cheers:

I've really tightened up recently, will only play roulette or blackjack at the alea and not online (haven't months) - as it used to be - and will try to limit myself around £20-£25 either side now. I was having £100 on things regular, used to be a very very odd time on a special bet, but really not worth it as sounds so easy to win but also so easy to lose. Too often, I was chasing the 100s too if first one lost and was often over 2.5 than just wins.

With 4 long term bets; Swansea for top ten, leeds to be promoted albeit £200, thistle at £200 to win league at 7/1 and just last night I had that ICT bet on just posted; it was easier to not bet yesterday and to not have a coupon on still a wee interest there.

Some time ago, I've had a £100 on us to win at 6/4 to beat Motherwell though but though done in ages, I'm not so keen.
