Mind sitting beside a guy in the Gala Glassford St one night at Blackjack. Head in his hands, greeting that he'd wasted the money his mrs had put aside for their new wean.

Told him he was just being one of these steaming wanks who think the object of the game is to get your own hand to 21.

Everyone at the table walked away with a good wedge after some coaching of this guy.

Mate Roullette is the big fucker. Well the machines are. Myself and a few of the boys from the football team and my mates have all been hooked to it. Getting paid and spunking nearly 1k of yer wages in the machine in 3 hours is when yae know its bad.

I play the roullette platinum now on Ladbrokes and will only ever deposit the odd money in my account. ie if i have 34.60 i will put the 4.6 in and see how i go. I have not played a machine in the bookies other than the odd pound or two in 2 months. Its hard as you think its a way to make a quick buck. Most people wouldnt stick 1k on a horse when they have been paid but on the machines they will.

I really dont get why we believe we are in control of winning money back when on the machines. We have zero control over them.

I am kinda the same as you mate. I have no desire to give up on coupons or even the horses but they were not my problem it was the machines. I was at the stage if i had a night out and had say 140 left towards the end of the month i would go and play the roullette and usually end up not being able to go out as i had lost or having to tap the money i just lost to go out.

Hope you can get it sorted mate because its fucking horrible and i know exactly how yae feel

I don't gamble at all and never have. It is just much easier that way than trying to control it. As an accountant I see really rich people with good jobs who gamble every single penny they earn on spread betting. They bet on favourites, the equivalent of betting on Rangers to win every match. Most of the time they win small amounts of money, but sometimes they lose an absolute fortune. I think it is better to stay away from it completely and find another hobby to occupy your time.

Definitely agree with the roulette comments, or even worse the puggies.

Roulette is around a 3% house edge. It's like trying to beat maths, especially the longer you play.

Fair enough if you can treat it as entertainment, and know when to quit when you're ahead.

But you see these guys chasing losses and it's not pretty..

I put myself on a five year ban from Skybet due to the online casinos getting out of control.

Lost £1000 on one night playing blackjack and the scratch cards non stop. I suppose I could always just join another betting site but the casinos is a no no.

So... responsible gambling. The way i see it. Gambling on wooricasino is my hobby. I make a nice earner on the side, but by no means enough to give up work to allocate all my time to the betting industry.

Ray, have you ever took a young boy in your bum bum?

Here is what I think on responsible gambling:

More poeple fail than succeed.
Those who succeed have discipline, a plan, and an "edge"
By the time you get good it gets boring
It is not wise to learn using real money
Research is key
Numbers matter

Reliable casino matters even more
