online poker tips whats yours ?

Here are a few from me

1. If playing rush poker on full tilt or zoom poker on pokerstars open up the max 4 tables at a blind level and only continue to play the tables you're in profit at. close the others when you go below 75% of your buy in.

2. As above poker rooms in my experience calling a 3 bet in rush/zoom is a waste of time I only seem to hit flops hard about 1 in 50, so i either 4 bet or fold.

3. If playing fixed limit holdem on any site you seem to be in the "winning seat" for a short period of time so once your profit at the table starts to fall it's better to leave because if you wait til it's your "turn" again you'll have lost all your profit.

4. ipoker network. if you get dealt a pair in cash or tourney if you miss the flop but are getting pot odds to see the turn card then i call as the amount of times I hit a set on the turn is quite alot.

When i think of some more I will add them .

So whats your tips ?

Have not played poker in quite a while(due to lack of funds) but I have some simple suggestions anh hope they help.

1 Study poker take it serious and pay attention at the tables also try think from your opponents point of view what story you are telling them with the way you are playing the hand.

2 Bankroll management is very important websites like pokerstrategy.com are good for learning about this as well as poker. You can also get some start up cash if you study and do the quiz.Use theboydave for recommend a friend if you do.

3 Learn different variations of poker not just texas hold emNl, but limit, 7card stud, razz, deuce seven lowball and omaha.By knowing more variations you may be able to play more juicer games.

4 If you are serious do read up and use some poker software to analyse your hands after a session to plug leaks in your game.

5 Mindset is very important sometimes you will get bad beats from a donkey who played a hand or more badly but this is variance, you make money in long run.

There are quite a few on pokerstrategy.com under poker tools like equilab, icm light(sure this is for tournament play) some sights like paddy power poker and party poker have a wee download that gives you pot odds tells you your probability of having best hand ect. Most sites you can also review hand histories how often you bet\check\fold.

I reckon any relatively clever person, with the right mentality, could make it as an online pro if they are willing to put in a couple of years of reading into the game and learning it inside out.

Really is money to be made.

If this was the case loads would be making money. As it is, its less than 5% who make any sort of decent money from it.

Poker is far too unpredictable, especially online where you can't really read a player.

It's because most don't have the bankroll or haven't done the proper research into the game. By research I mean looking at hundreds of advanced videos and analysing hands after you've played them.

Got to agree with you here mate. Online is pot luck. I was up 1500 one day and went onto a 25/50 blinds cash table and the people on there would call with shite hands like they do on a 0.02/0.04 cash table.

At the casino I've made a guy fold a full house kings over tens, with my two pair aces and tens and it was because I knew how weak he was. I find in a live face to face game you can actually go after certain players, online it's so hard to do

The reason why online poker can be so difficult is because no matter what stakes you play at you will still come up against idiots who will get lucky. No matter how many hours you spend looking at hands it will be the same. If you have AA and you flop A 8 9. No matter what happens you are not laying down. Some idiot online could chase the straight or flush and hit it. WOuld you play it any different next time? No!

I prefer the casino because A. You can get a read on the player and B. Not too many players in the casino have the brass neck to fish like fuck.

Aye for fear of their life lol. Online if you have a massive bankroll you could play how you please. Casino or live tournament play is never as bad as online

If you're playing £60-£500 6 man SnGs you don't get that many of these players. And of you're playing enough games a year then luck evens itself out.

I have 3 mates who left uni with a pointless Geography degree a couple of years ago. They decided to seriously look into poker and spend 20+ hours a week simply studying the game and getting tutoring off the world's top players via Skype at extortionate rates. A few years on they made a combined profit of around 100k last year without playing that many games. Pretty sure I worked out they were making around $23 an hour.

This simply isn't true. I went through a phase where I played nothing but higher stakes sit and go's and you still get at least 2 or 3 idiots per table.

If you want to play poker seriously you have to have something like holdem manager or poker office for online it gives you all you need to know about an opp. Also for online tools poker stove is a hand equity calculator which will tell you how much % your hand will win.

Another thing about rush/zoom there is always an action card on the turn so i try to take as many hands down on the flop as i can as no point slow playing a flopped straight online as you will almost certainly be beat by the river by a flush or full house

Poker is far too unpredictable, especially online where you can't really read a player.

You certainly CAN read players online mate.

Thats why you take notes and pay attention to their betting patterns.

People all too often give away their hand by the way they bet it.
