I never chase my bets anyway jamieg54, however saying that iv never went on a bad run since i started about 18 months ago! (luckily)y

Do you do a lot of betting yourself mate? Kinda looking for some advice on a staking plan for the long haul......?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

cheers

If you see my other thread I am trying a system which I come up with but im still not sure if it will work long term. Its been up and down once but after 105 betting days I am up 57 points. Best I have been up to was 71.5 a few weeks ago so just trying to get over the hurdle.

My advice would be stick to a point I.e don't increase your stakes cos the price is shorter or its a favourite and don't lower your stakes as it may be an outsider. Do the same stake no matter the price and dont do ew unless its 40/1 or more. I do the same stake and it don't matter if my horse wins at 6/4, 7/2 or 25/1 I bet the same. When my balance increases and hopefully to 100 points ill increase my point bet but again it will be same every race.

FUCKING RAGING!!!!!!!

Just notices that £2500 has been deducted from my betfair account as a "premium charge" This charge can be anything up to 20% of net profits! I didnt even know such a thing existed, fucking robbing bastards!

There justification is that if i had won that much with any bookmaker i would of had my account cancelled or reduced, my argument was that im NOT taking money from them, rather, im providing a pot of money to entice other site users to gamble and taking their money, so not only do they take a commission of up to 5% of all winnings on their site (bearing in mind a typical match result bet in the EPL has over 4 million staked) they have this little moneymaking tool from anyone who is successful!

just told the guy they are a shower of cunts and i would be reducing my bets, pulled another 12K out of my account and that i would be moving to another exchange called BETDAQ that doesnt punish the successful traders.

This new sight does not have any fees, just a commission up to 3% (0% commission for the first month). only downside is there are a lot less markets to trade on and not as much liquidity in the markets available!

What a fucking drama!

How the fuck am i going to become a millionaire this season now????

BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done mate, Cash out £20000 and play with the rest. If you lose it lay off it for a bit. That's my strategy in the casino although it's a couple of hundred I cash out not thousands. Be careful and don't chase your losses.

Im a gambling addict. Been off it for 20 months.

I had £54k in my bank and 4 months later was -£36k in debt.

So easy done. I thought I was invincible, I was winning crazy money and punting really heavy. It all came crashing dowm though!

Feel great now I have chucked it. I wouldn't bet a penny ever again and that is the truth.

Nah mate, saving up to buy my favorite thing in the whole wide world! RANGERS!!!!

Wonder if Charles Green will sell to me for cost price of a penny....?

At that rate it'll take you almost 60 years to raise the £16m King's talking about and the board rejected.

You might have to keep your for up for 90 or 100 years to have a chance.

Even then, Paul Murray might beat you to the deal.;)

Everyone tells you when they win, few hold their hands up and say "I made a cunt of it".

Fantastic that you've chucked it, no matter what someones vice is - when the bug bites, the grip is unrelenting.

Excellent post pal!

Both points are true, I used to gamble quite a bit, never more than I could afford to lose, although i'm sure I would have crept into that area if I'd had a bad streak as I used to make the mistake of doubling bets to cover what i'd lost the last time so a few of them in a row and i'd have been buggered. I remember doing incredibly well on Olympic football and the EURO's after it but in both I blew all my winnings and more in the final (with the Olympics i'd been putting money on Brazil to win the tournament each time I won a bet until on the day of the final I could have guaranteed myself big money either way just by betting on Mexico, eating a wee bit into my Brazil profits but my head said no, put even more on Brazil... A lot of people heard about the wins up until the final, very few heard about that loss. I went cold turkey because I realised it could go wrong but even then every so often I put a daft bet on that leads to a few more.

You see these guys on twitter that get their betslips shared all the time, £6000 on Fulham, pays 2 grand profit, and they inevitably lose a bet and play the big man but you look at the other pictures they are posting, the cars they drive, the house they live in and they're clearly not people who can legitimately afford to lose 6 grand
